LOL If you beleive that apparently you are not familiar with disney. ohana is booked solid nearly evernight and I am sure if a food change is temporary the website menu will not be updated.

Do u ever NOT argue with people? Thanks genius....I am familiar. I was throwing something out there as food for thought.....you know....a point of view perhaps not seen by blindly ignorant people.

This is a good point. I bought a single package of wing sections yesterday and it was $5 (for 8 wings). I do not understand why its so expensive when wing sections used to be the cheapest part. Ground beef has even went up to $5 or more a pound. Do not get me started on grapes.
Yeah, its all getting expensive...

You already get chicken wings, just ask for more of those. I always thought the chicken was dry. I preferred the other menu items myself anyways.

Since everything is grill-cooked, I'm sure a lot of the quality on any given day depends on the guys doing the cooking.

Last time I went, earlier this month, the chicken was grilled to juicy perfection, but the pork was dry and the steak was awful- most of the cuts were half fat and it was beyond rare.
Would have said something but I was too busy stuffing my face with extra potstickers and noodles.

I would have to say you make a very good point! I have just probably had the off days for a new cook. In December the pork and beef were cooked to perfection. But the bread pudding, oh my... You can never have enough of that!

I do not know his name - but there is a big guy (I want to say Hawaiin) and there is also an African American male - when either or are the grill chef - the food is amazing. I have been in there and it was someone else and the grilled food was all dry.

I have realized when it comes to steak at most restaurants - I avoid it all costs. Grilled fat is disgusting. And even at chinese resturants - they cut up fat and put gravy on it and pass it off as peppered steak.

From a cm I know chicken skewers off the menu at Ohana and wings are said to be the replacement. The wings have always been apart of the meal.
Terrible subtraction on Disney's part.

Dang. It must have crossed the road.

(Seriously, though -- it seems to be in keeping with Disney's general trend of "simplifying," a/k/a offering fewer options but for higher prices, at all the Table Service restaurants. By way of example, in the months since we booked our ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table, I've noticed that the dinner menu has changed to eliminate the "all you care to enjoy" component while keeping the ardly portions the same, cut down the number of entree options to eliminate the priciest proteins (e.g. lamb, which was replaced by a dish featuring rice as the main component), while the cost for the meal has been increased.) Where I come from, that's as blatant a bait-and-switch ripoff as you can get.
When we booked our ADR for Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast, it was all you could eat. Then before we left they changed it. The food was good (I had the lobster crepe and it was delicious and so were the pastries), but I sure could have enjoyed some more. Disappointing when you book an ADR and then there is a change. Of course, there are extras you do get that the children love and there is the atmosphere. Of course, it was worth the happiness on the grandchildren's faces. So excited they all gave hugs to the waitress before we left.

I did like the chicken a lot, I would have been happier with the removal of the shrimp/prawns as I dislike seafood. I will enjoy the wings though!

We were hoping to make an ADR for 'Ohana (8 days and counting until ADR day!) but I'm a bit concerned now about taking our 3 year old. He's not particularly fussy, but I wonder if any of the meats will now be suitable. 'Spicy' peel & eat shrimp and 'Szechuan' steak says to me that they may be too hot for him. He might be ok with the char sui pork, although he's never tried it. Just how spiced are the meats?

In my opinion, not very.
I feel like Disney is throwing the word "Szechuan" around very loosely because the steak they serve really just tastes like steak to me. If they do anything to it at all it's probably just a bit of garlic and butter.
I don't feel like the shrimp was particularly hot either but I also remember not being that impressed with it. The pork is mild too; it has a sweet, mildly citrus taste to it but that's about it.
Honestly, I'll bet your 3-year-old will be more than happy to just chow down on the lo mein.

So, can anyone confirm that the chicken is actually not being served yet?

If anyone is preemptively missing it, you might want to try this recipe: http://www.magicalrecipes.net/ohana-white-meat-marinade-recipe/
I made that last night and the grilled chicken we marinated in it was very accurate to what Disney is/was using on the chicken skewers.

I can't help but think, this is a safety issue. I do catering, and you have to be REALLY careful with chicken. Maybe the prep area had bacteria or the chicken was packed so tightly on the skewers, some pieces weren't completely cooked?!!?! But, it had to happen more than once for them to just yank the chicken off of the menu (IF this were the case) Several years ago, they replaced the turkey with the chicken (I thought it was due to cost... chicken was cheaper) Maybe they will bring back the sausage? What I don't like is they subtract offerings, yet raise the price. Doesn't seem fair to me.
