I saw this on the Daily Show about a month ago. I never realized it was real though. I guess I am the only person who finds it funny. But it is at least better than sesame street in Africa showing a person with AIDs, and showing that to kids, under 5.

Why is that bad? Many of those kids have HIV themselves, and many more have lost one or both parents to the disease. I am currently putting one such little boy through elementary school in Zambia. In his country alone over a half million children have lost parents to AIDS. It runs rampant in Africa.

Becuase they don't tell the kids why AIDS is running rampant. Yes part of it is the blood supply, but the major reason is because they can't keep their pants on.

Wait- I thought you were offended that they were showing the character with AIDS to preschool kids. Isn't a preschooler a little young to learn about ______?

I'm not offended by the character, I'm offended by the way they portray the character. Yes the kids do not need to learn about ***, but they way they portray the character as outgoing and having fun all the time, is false. They should at least show her dealing with AIDS itself not just saying she has AIDS and then making her exactly like the others.

I see your point- I respecfully disagree but I do understand what you are saying. I think they see enough of the hard reality of living with AIDS and at that young age they need some relief. Anything more is over their heads- Sesame Street is for very young children.
