Offsite hotel recommendations

We will be on property the 15th-19th Needing a cheap offsite hotel to stay on the 14th and 20th. Preferably one close, and maybe even with a free breakfast, although not a deal breaker. Want it close enough that we can get up and go to our Disney hotel and get our passes and all and hit the parks as early as possible on the 15th. Sadly our disney hotel has no rooms available on these nights.

I believe that I have mentioned this before on another thread, but be careful of the hotels/motels on 192 (Irlo Bronson Hwy). MANY of them, including big name chains, are moldy dumps that should be closed for demolition, let alone refurbishment. I have even seen some of them on internet hotel search engines. Make sure that you check carefully before you book. Unfortunately, I have stayed at a great percentage of these rat's nests. My only "decent, nice, and clean" stays have been on Disney property. Sorry.

I have to agree with rsoxguy on the hotels located on US192. However, my wife and I found a very nice place on US192 called the Galleria Palms. Check them out on tripadvisor.com. We got a great room with two queen beds and a nice free continental breakfast in the morning for about $60 a night. I would recomend checking them out.

Check out the Marriott Courtyards and Residence Inns. I know my dad has stayed at one if not both.

I work for Marriott and I just stayed there November 1, 2008. Rooms are great. They are located on Vineland Ave. by the premium outlets. They have 3 Marriott branded hotels I think it's called Marriott Village.

Hampton Inns are always awesome, but often for the same price you can stay at an Embassy Suites. They are all suites, so you will at least get a bedroom and a living room, and a FULL breakfast buffet and manager's reception with free drinks and snacks is always included. They're also quite lovely, with all of the rooms surrounding an atrium, vaguely like the Contemporary. There's one on the Palm Parkway just down the street from Downtown Disney, and there are also two along International Drive.

It also depends on what you define as cheap. Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites usually range from $80-$130.

I agree, I've stayed at the Courtyard and one of the others there and they were clean and nice, as well as a short drive to disney.

We stayed at the Royal Plaza December 2007 and had an enjoyable stay and a nice view of the Epcot fireworks and DTD. Not sure how the regular compares to other places pricewise though since we stayed in one of the higher end rooms.

Good location, big rooms, and clean.

We always stay offsite and have tried several different motels along the 192 corridor and none were moldy dumps. The past several years we've stayed at a Ramada and its been perfect for our needs. When you leave your room at 8 in the morning and don't get back until l0 at night, we only need a room that is clean and comfortable and doesn't cost $200 a day. :)

What every you do..DO NOT SAY AT HOME SUITE HOME..IN KISSIMME

Ok, I do not normally post reviews but I hae to in this case. This place is the worst place that you can possiable stay in the orlando area. If you are on vaction, do not even think about it, you will not save any money. If you are in transit, keep going down 192, there are several place's that are 100 times better for the same money.

I had to move out of the cottage I was renting for the last three years and I went here because of the cost and the discount I got for being a Disney Cast Member. Little did I know this place is run by slum loards. I am not lying. When you arrive and go to check in you are greeted by bulit proof glass. There are two of Home Suite Homes in the area and they both have this glass, the only hotels in the area that uses this. (should be your first red flag) The staff are extrelly rude and unprofessional. They are very dirty and shady. I was in a bind so I thought I would suck it up and give it a try. The grounds are filthy as well as the laundry room. I had a room with a king bed and it was not kept up at all. The shower head was broken and remained that way till after I left. The bath tub had peeling paint and was unkept.

To give you an idea of the type of service I recived. During my stay my TV went out and I called the front desk multiple times and they said they would send some one up. This was at 1:00pm. No one ever showed. A day later at 11:30pm while I was sleeping there was a knock at the door and it was two very unkept guys that clamed they were with maint. Against my better judgement I let them take a look. They smelled to high heven of alcohol and cig smoke. They looked at the TV, and everything else in my room, and said they would call the problem in. Long story short it took three days to get a replacmen TV and they refused to give me any type of credit.

On my second night I arrive home at 2:30am after I got off work to be greeted by not one, two or even three, but 9 police cars and a police helicoptor above. The next day I talke with a orange county officer and found out they are called to this hotel on a nightly basis. No matter what time you arrive you are greeted by people loitering outside there rooms drinking beer and smoking. Oh, BTW, this is against thier so called rules. People have parties out side there rooms and when you call security to assist, they are actully friends with every one so they join them. If you do not beleave me take a drive by around midnight and see for youself. It is very scarry.

The staff is there for one reason, to take and hold on to your money. They charge a $100 deposit if you pay cash and they hold on to it for over two weeks to collect the intrest. Oh the house keeping is a joke! They come once every two weeks and your lucky if they clean the toliet and vacume.

The staff again is extremely unprofessional and they do not care about your stay or your safety. When you go to them with a problem they blow you off and ignore you. This place is really for the homeless as its run by slum lords and should not be used for anyone on vacation at all. DO NOT be fooled by the cheep price. Go accross the street to Knights Inn or even Motel 6. They have the same so called amminites and are extremly clean. Or go further down 192 and there are multiple places that you can stay at for extened stays.

Oh if you must stay here, DO NOT use you credit card! Pay Cash. I am not accusing anyone but I had some one get hold of my debit card number right after I checked in and made a bunch of charges. I can not prove anything but I have heard that I am not the only one that it has happen too at the property.

Well thats about it. I can NOT impress on every one about staying AWAY fom this palce. It really needs to be shut down!! Read ALL of the reviews and form your opinion. You will see a patern and you can tell which reviews were posted by the so called employees that live there.

STAY AWAY...YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!

there's cheap-cheap and then there's "what do you recommend?" . . . and never the twain shall meet.

There are many good places to stay that are not expensive - the Marriott and the Hilton properties are my personal favorites, but I'm sure there are others.
