I am sooooo excited about this movie...and Disney's renewed interest in hand drawn animation. I have been anxiously awaiting a trailer for about a year now, thanks OP for sharing, you totally made my day. Based on this brief teaser trailer the animation is stunning and the characterizations look fantastic. With Ron Clements and John Musker at the helm along with music and score by Randy Newman, this film is destined to be brilliant...I can't wait to see it.

I'm so glad to finally see a woman of color depicted as a princess and Tiana looks like she is going to be a strong and very memorable character, her character design and animation are fantastic as well. I loved Enchanted, especially Amy Adam's work as Giselle, but Disney's attempt at making her the next new Princess didn't really seem to take off, IMO mainly because she was too much of an amalgam of previous princesses and was basically a caricature. Tiana seems to be a wholly genuine character that I think will resonate well with audiences, thus truly birthing Disney's next new princess.

OK, enough gushing, I've gotta go to work.

Have I mentioned that I can't wait to see this movie?:animwink:

I hope that this is the start of big things for traditional animation styles at Disney. As much as i love CGI, cel style animation is an art form in its self, and I believe that there is room in Hollywood for both styles.

I just think Disney lost its sense of direction with hand animation. The stories just wern't magical anymore, no more believing in yourself, or your dreams etc, typical Disney traditions. They just turned into big adventure films (again this is nice too, just not when every feature is a big adventure tale, wheres the love, romance, and wonder.

Still if for whatever reason this film is a commercial failure (IF PEOPLE IF) i hope disney don't have a knee-jerk reaction and halt all hand animation development again.

Its about the stories Disney, and there is still plenty of room out there for Pixar and Disney Feature Animation to produce side by side.

Same here and I've tried it at work and at home!!

But I looked the trailer up on Youtube and it does look really good. Not sure about the bug, he seems a bit weird, and I'm not really a fan of Randy Newton. I think they've had much better musical scores than the ones he's done (I'm thinking pretty much all of them, esp Lion King, Tarzan, Beauty & the Beast etc) but I'm loving Tiana!

I agree 100%.

It is all about amazing storytelling. THAT is what Pixar understands so well and THAT is why they have produced an amazing string of movies.

There is certainly room for both Pixar and Disney Feature Animation. I certainly hope they both produce outstanding work in the coming years.

I agree about Randy Newman, though I did enjoy the music in the trailor. I was upset when I read Alan Menken wouldn't be writing the score. Oh well, I still can't wait for this film! The trailor was awesome!

Thanks to the OP for sharing the link! I got the sense this movie will have humor and charm, the animation looks beautiful and it's set in New Orleans!! I'm also very happy to see the introduction of a princess of color.

I can't really say I'm a huge Randy Newman fan, but I think for a film set in New Orleans, his style should be a good fit. I'm a little unsure of the firefly character. Not sure about those teeth...lol I'd have to say I'm on the fence about that.

This looks like a winner! :sohappy:
