I wonder how much more expensive the resorts will be next year? It would be great, and more benificial for them to actually lower the prices so occupancy rates would be better but we all know that will never happen...
Rates I have seen for January 2015 are roughly a 3% increase (at POFQ). The increase depends on room type, of course. Standard view rooms, for instance, are about the same price in 2015 as 2014.

Expected...I started saving for our 2014 trip as soon as we returned from our 2013 trip. Then the plans for 2014 fell through, so I'm all ready to pay for 2015 ( price increase figured in ). Only good thing about a delayed trip is theres more time to save which = more $$ saved to spend for extras. POFQ here we come 2015.

Soooo, I am new here and I HATE to be the newbie that comes along and gets all skeptical on all of you but is the July 30th date a fact? I only ask because I am so anxious to turn our room only reservation into a package and now my hopes are WAY up that I will be able to do so in just 2 short weeks!!! I have to say I am worried though because even Disney reps won't confirm this when I call. They just tell me they don't know when the prices will be released, blah, blah,, blah. So forgive me for asking for confirmation :)

Forgiven and I totally understand!!!! It is tough to separate fact from fiction sometimes on the internet so I understand where you are coming from. We are Authorized Disney Vacation planners meaning we have a relationship with Disney in terms of special training, personnel we can contact with issues regarding our bookings etc. As such we are registered for e mail alerts for items like this and we had gotten e mailed this morning from Disney itself, so this is as official as it gets. I hope this is helpful!! Marie

And just in case you don't trust a pretty bookworm from the French countryside, I am also a Disney Travel Agent and we got the same email this morning. Happy booking! Sorry, @wannabeBelle ;)

Always happy to answer where I can. We do hear a lot of the rumors that are out there as well but don't post anything we aren't 100% dead out sure on and that has been made official. Please continue to ask on anything you aren't sure on or need clarification on. I welcome the questions!!! Marie

Since July 30th is the date on Disney's website that on-line reservations can be made for 2015, I think this info is pretty reliable.

Hi Hakuna, No we dont deal with rental of points, but we can do packages or room only reservations including the DVC properties. This is the same as a resort reservation but instead of dealing with points it is paid for with money. The advantages are that you are in charge of your own reservation. When you rent points, the owner still has to do much of the transaction including adding on the dining plan if it is wanted. Another plus is that when you have a regular reservation, you continue to have maid service every day, DVC doesnt offer this. I also believe LA Kid is correct,as I thought I had read something to that effect, so please check out any additional limitations or new rules that have been imposed. I hope this is helpful! Marie

Hakuna,

If you really want to stay in a DVC property by purchasing a member's points, then you can try the website dvcrentalstore.com. However, Belle is correct, the member will have to add the DDP and any extras. But as she also said, you can make a regular reservation at a DVC resort - about 2% of the rooms are available for non-DVC members. That way you can use discounts on rack rates, if they are available, like annual passholder, military, Florida residents, etc. I stayed at Old Key West via a regular reservation that I made 2 days before my check in date. I will warn you, though, that the smaller DVC properties get snapped up pretty quickly. I'm a DVC member and can make a reservation 7 months out for any of the resorts that are not my home property and I still can't get Grand Floridian unless I want to be on a wait list. If you are not tied to a particular DVC property, I would start with Saratoga Springs or Old Key West. And Belle is correct about maid service for a regular reservation at a DVC property vs. us DVC members making a reservation via the DVC website. So my advice is to let Belle make a reservation for you, especially if you are not familiar with any of the DVC properties.

Good luck!
