Since the campaign offerings are so minimal, not affecting the quality of the parks, it will be easy to mostly ignore with the exception of seeing vacation slides on the castle. I don't "love" it by any means, but it doesn't seem too annoying.

"40 Years of Memories" sounds better to me, but we were never really promised a full out campaign based on the anniversary. With the news of the Destination D event it gives hope that something will be done to recognize it anyway, even if it's not a national campaign with a castle cake icon.

I'm wondering more about whether or not Star Tours 2 will get its own separate campaign since it's appearing on both coasts at the same time.

I think it's a ridiculous and, quite frankly, stupid promotion.

Go back to the "Year of a Million Dreams" and give out those super fastpasses. I'd rather have one of those than see my picture projected on the Castle.

LAME, Disney.....you can (and have) done better.

I dont think it is great, but I certainly dont think it is bad. The kids that do get to see their pictures on the castle will love it, and it will add another "magical" element to their experience. Taking the pictures out of the equation the projection system alone has the potential to add a new and updated experience to MK's evening shows.

I think most of the negativity this topic is seeing is based on unmet expectations that are a result of how the announcement was hyped on the blog. Anytime something "exciting" is going to be announced fans automatically start thinking of what would be most exciting to them (new attractions etc.) and expect to hear those things. When the their preconceived ideas of what should be announced do not come to fruition they are not likely to get excited about anything else. The original stream was not intended to be anything ground breaking. It was intended to roll out Disney's new annual promotion, and that is it.

They could have done better, but I'm not totally against the idea of the photo show. I just don't like how the test video shows a screen will be placed in front of the Clock/Balcony area.

I assume it will not be present all the time, but judging by similar events in the past, how long will this screen be present in front of the castle before and after the show? How much of it and the mechanisms to hold it will be seen when the screen is retracted? Also because of the presence of that screen I bet this will be yet another show that cuts off access through the castle for an extended period of time - unless this show is timed to be setup during the hour or so before Wishes when access is closed anyway and shown just before Wishes.

Lack luster is all I think about it.

BUT I still love Disney , and there current ad campaign really doesn't matter to me. I'm hooked regardless.

The commercial is extremely vague. No mention of the projections on the Castle or Small World, or any of that. Making memories and uploading them to the Disney website was about all I got out of it - not really why they want you to do it. Certainly not something to get excited about or that would inspire me to want to go to the parks.

Yawn...
