It's fine for a good general vacation planning

I much prefer the Unofficial Guide...a bit more comprehensive and less sugar coated.

Could you be a bit more specific?

I would say the Unofficial guide goes into much more comprehensive detail. It gives you good, bad, and different angles for items where the official guide only gives the ideal travelogue type approach.

For example, the Official makes it sound like anybody can get a res. at Cinderellas Royal breakfast, and that all seats at Cali Grille can see the fireworks. The Unofficial Guide gives you an idea of the con's. It also provides greater detail on different types of visitors and possible preferred activities, lesser known activities and more hints onto lesser known Disney magic.

So you would recommend the Unofficial for a 3 night, 4 day vacation?

If by "The Official Guide" you mean "Birnbaum's Walt Disney World" ~ you made a GREAT CHOICE!!! I would NOT take a WDW vacation without it!!! I just LOVE reading it, over & over again! Another GREAT GUIDE (I just found this year) that contains A LOT more in depth information (including pull out park maps!) is called: PassPorter/Walt Disney World Resort. It's GREAT!!! And just perfect for the person (like me!) that wants to know EVERY LITTLE DETAIL ABOUT WDW, before I get there! I will definitely be carrying it around with me, on MY APRIL 2006 TRIP! BOTH BOOKS ARE VALUABLE TO ME! :)

HAVE FUN!!!

The Unofficial Guide also has many touring plans to choose from, depending on your needs. Examples: a one day MK plan, a two day MK plan, an MK plan for adults, etc.

It also has a graph that shows which parks are better to visit on a particular day. This info is also on their website, touringplans . com.

If you only have 4 days the UG might help you minimize the amount of time that you spend in line. The catch is you have to be at a park at opening for the plans to work to their potential.
