I've noticed several threads with people asking questions about the holidays at Walt Disney World. My wife and I have been down the last two years at Christmas and have a trip planned for Dec 7th.

Let's list some of our favorite Christmas events, traditions and happenings that we enjoy and keep in mind that some readers may be new to the holiday events. Give some details and let's have some holiday cheer! :xmas:

Our favorite event is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It's a hard ticket event which means that it requires separate admission tickets. I'm sure that you can find lots of information on this party, but I'll give you an overview.

Most of the rides and attractions are open for the party along with 2 showings of the special Christmas parade, a holiday version of the fireworks with perimeter fireworks, hot chocolate, cookies, and even snow on main street! Don't miss the special shows including Mickey's Twas the night before Christmas.

You can read more about MVMCP at http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/hol_mk.htm!

Now, everyone join in and let's share the Christmas spirit!

No one will ever hear me complain about being a teacher, except for now. :lookaroun

I would love to be able to take my family down for the MVMCP, but that is prime teaching time, so.......we go down for Christmas. I know it doesn't sound Christmasy, but we love waking up in Disney World on Christmas day.

We try to go to the Candlelight Processional on Christmas Eve and then get up early for breakfast and spend the day in one of the parks.

This year we will be going to the CP on Christmas Day. We are also bringing lights and stockings for our room.

Only 31 days to go! :sohappy:

I like seeing the Osborne Spectacle of Lights.... :D

And then I also like strolling around the parks on a cold day, taking in the Christmas atmosphere....

To me, actually, that tradition is very Christmasy.

Btw, the resorts are completely decked. Last night MK was partially transform, MK should be full force for the holidays by Wednesday. I am sure the other parks are following the same schedule.
I am dying to see the Jingle Jungle parade at DAK since I am a big fan of Jammin; Jungle.

I can't wait to hear the response to this parade. From what I've seen in rehearsals, it's going to be adorable. :xmas:

I think for me it's being there at EPCOT to hear Candlelight P.I can't think of a better way of hearing the story of his birth and all the great music/songs that go with it.This year we got a package for LeCellier for christmas eve. On cristmas day you get a scaled down(not much) version of the MVMCP at MK,but I think we will miss that this year.Christmas day at MK I won't do again.Waking up at the resort and finding a christmas present for them on your door.Oh I can't wait for Dec 18th to come.

Wish I was going this year... Went last year for first Christmas away from home, and let me say, it was the best Christmas ever, seriously. All the little touches, and even a free cake at Liberty Tree Tavern (Mom's birthday's on Christmas Day, hence the name Carol), and even great shows, made that trip one of the best experiences ever.

Wonderful! I love the Christmas story at the Processional and the full orchestra. We have never been on Christmas day so I can imagine it would be great, crowded, but great! :xmas:

We've never been at Christmas, but we are going this year the week before. I'm really looking forward to MVMCP, Candlelight Processional & Osborne Lights. We have also made a reservation for a "sleigh ride" at WL. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. :xmas:

I'll be at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for the first time ever in a mere nine days - December 3rd! I can't wait! It's the first special event/holiday thing I've ever done and I'm so looking forward to it. :xmas:

Are the Osbourne Lights displayed every day at MGM? Are the hours always 6-8pm? On the day we're going, Fantasmic is scheduled at 7, which forces us to choose between either Osbourne or Fantasmic. :(

Christmas with Disney is how we get the Holiday Spirit going around here, by decorating the house with all our Disney Christmas decorations thanksgiveing day, then we pack our bags and get ready to fly down south for a week of MAGIC.

Will be visiting Disney World Dec 1 thru Dec 9th at All-Star Movies ,Seeing Mickey's Christmas Party Dec 2,3,and 5th as well as the Osborn Lights .Dec 8th we end our visit with EPCOT's Candlelight procession with one of my favorite actress's Marlee Matlin .

We also visit Universal's Grinchmas ( is pushed back after we leave this year).

We pick fresh oranges to send home to family and freinds in Dundee,Fl which is just a one hour drive away from Disney World and stop at Bok Tower Garden to see Pinewood Home decorated with a new christmas theme each year .

Happy Holiday's
