We will soon begin the long process of looking through footage and working on our memories DVD for "Celebration 25".
I personally captured almost 8 hours of footage including the all of the "History Walks" with a wireless microphone, the Rededication from the front row center, the group rides/meet ups, the VIP media/podcasting event, many forum members sharing memories and stories, the full Illuminations: ROE including final tag and projections plus all of the other chaos that was at Epcot.

Did you take video of our group events on September 30th or October 1st 2007 at Epcot?
Would you like to submit your video so that portions of it may be included into the final, official "Celebration 25" DVD?
If so, follow the guidelines listed below, and try to respect our submission cutoff of November 30, 2007. We need to set a cutoff date for submissions so that work can be done on finishing the video. If this presents any issue to you, please let us know.
We are trying to preserve the best quality footage possible, so there are a few guidelines.
If your camera shoots NTSC on- DV, Mini DV, VHS, VHS-C Send a copy of your tape to me at the address provided.
If your camera shoots NTSC on- DVD, Mini DVD, 8mm, hi-8, Digital 8 It would benefit me to have the footage on Mini DV. If you can copy it to Mini Dv, great. If not, how about VHS or DVD?
If your camera shoots HDV, DVC Pro HD, Mpeg-2, AVCHD (or any other compressed format HD or SD) Please, down convert to NTSC SD on a Mini Dv tape and send us a copy.
Did you shoot PAL? If so, it would be great if you can convert it to NTSC and/or transfer it to DVD.
Be sure to include a note with your name & contact information so we can reach you and give proper credit.

Adam, as you pointed out last night, it would be great to have some of the clips on youtube (or even divx stage6) as a preview for the DVD

The "price" will be to cover costs of materials, mailing, and a donation to charity...

It will most likely be about or around $10.
I was trying to go for $5, but I would be losing money for sure.
Once we have a better idea of what will really be done (printing, packaging, mailing costs, etc) we will be able to let everyone know.

:)

It balances out with our official scrapbook which will be at the other end of the spectrum... Jackie has his work cut out for him on that one...

Matt's work is definitely wonderful, and knowing how much footage he will have (between his own and all of ours), he will do an amazing job!

Wow! I actully thought it cost like $20+. I'd be glad to pay $10 for all of that great stuff!
:D

Oh, and does anybody know more about the book yet? I'd love to chip in a few of my October 1st pictures, or any random EPCOT photos from my vast collection of taking WAY too many pictures.

There needs to be rain footage with the audio in the background from TLS pre-show. "And it rained, and rained, and rained........THE DELUGE!"

:ROFLOL:

Marcus threatened to submit videos of me singing along with Canada (You're a Lifetime Journey) and playing air violin along with Tomorrow's Child for the DVD.:p

Im fairly certain they will be able to charge whatever they want for the dvd as they can use all the footage of us at night as blackmail! :ROFLOL:

That was so much fun!

I think we are waiting for Jackie (Brkgnews) to get home from WDW and post the info as he plans on doing most of the work on it.

Did I miss the info on what to do with the video footage if they were shot in widescreen? I shot all of the event in 16x9? Do you need that to be cropped first or can you do that?

Zz. (still at WDW with crappy connection since network port got fried).

did you shoot 16x9 in HD, HDV, AVCHD, or any other HD type recording format?

If so, you could down convert it to SD Mini dv for me.

If it is 16x9 in sd, then I can use it.

We are going to make this strictly SD because of the current expense involved with HD and the current format war of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.

Edit: Can you crop it? If so, sure, but it doesn't really matter.

It's not in HD of any kind, just standard MiniDV 16x9.

I'll burn it to a DVD (or more) when I get home and try to get it to you after that.

Zz.

I'm (FINALLY) back home. I mentioned it in the other thread, but let me say that the rest of the week was (gasp!) boring compared to Sunday and Monday. I missed my extended EPCOT geekdom family. :(

I'll start a full thread for the book on Sunday afternoon/evening so as to avoid threadjacking the video thread, but here's a quick overview...

If you have a few pix you can email them; if you have a ton, snail mail a CD or DVD. I'll provide appropriate addresses and such in said thread. We'll have a reasonable deadline to give stuff time to be mailed in (and give Martin time to get back home and send in his photos! ;) )

If we keep to original plans of a 200-page color book, expect pricing to be around $47. That is based on LuLu.com (print on demand) estimates and includes precisely diddly-squat in terms of "profit." If we decide to include a charitable donation ("profit") then cost would be higher.

Full details to follow in a 'nuther thread.
