I'd love a Barbossa movie. But hey, I'm happy with Pirates 4. I have no doubts this film will debut at Disneyland.
I think an even bigger thing that is being over looked is, with Depp starting Pirates 4, that means he is back on good terms with Disney after the Cook firing. I was really wondering if he was backing out of it. Cook was an important part of getting Jack on screen according to Depp. He even said he wasnt sure if he was going to do it. I think this gives hope that Depp is staying close to Disney and that he will still do The Lone Ranger, which is waiting in the wings.

He's just...I don't know he's empty without other characters. One of the reasons I really didn't like DMC is because I felt like Jack was nothing without Barbossa, but on the other hand Barbossa could thrive without Jack.:shrug:
I just thought DMC was flat in the first place. DJ jazzed things up in the beginning, and for a bit in AWE, but he got tired after a while. They tried to hard to make him have depth.

This movie is only about Jack Sparrow. Keira Knightley (sp?) has no interest in returning for a 4th and Orlando Bloom has retired from acting (for the time being). I read an interview of his where he said that he was tired of acting. Since Black Hawk Down had come out he was constantly working on movies...3 LOTR movies, 3 Pirate movies and a bunch of stuff inbetween. He will not be returning either.
Also, Depp has stated that this is his final movie in the Pirates franchise as well. He originally was supposed to be interested in more, but then changed his mind.
Consideration for additional movies will focus more on Barbossa, but as far as I know, this is just rumor.

My 13 year old son told me he heard that Zac Efron was rumored to be in the next one. If this rumor is true, I have a guess at WHO his character could end up possibly being. But it would depend on how much time has passed in the storyline since the end (VERY END) of the 3rd one. Don't want to say too much though on here in case someone hasn't seen the 3rd one yet, but let's just say if you stayed until after all the credits rolled, you were in for a little extra scene!!! :lookaroun

That is what we think too. :brick:Nothing really more to go on other than my son here. He is a typical 13 year old gamer/techie and I can't remember off-hand where he told me he heard it. He is always looking stuff up online and watching G4 Tech TV where they talk about future movie projects and that from ComicCon and the likes, so my guess would be he heard it from there.
Plus, it kinda makes sense, what with Zac being a Disney alum and all. We both sure as heck hope he isn't in it, but who knows. It wouldn't surprise me! :shrug:
REALLY hope it's not the case....That has the potential to ruin Pirates for me.

I think I remember reading that too Explorer. As far as I know Kiera said right after the third movie that she wasn't doing another one. I think I also read that Bloom was open to the idea of coming back but he wasn't optimistic. I think Depps statements came when he was still a little upset about the Cook firing. Who knows what hes thinking now. On the other hand, Disney may not be anxious to give Pirates two more movies after the fourth; with Persia, John Carter, and TRON coming. Haven't really read anything about a Barbossa movie, but I guess we will see.
