Yup there's golf coarses turnout the whole place that front one is just one out of many holes. The pools are the best thing there.

Off property stay

On our first trip in 1983 we stayed at a Econo-Lodge across the road from there. I remember seeing it and as a golfer, I thought that would be a good place. I don't know why I never really thought to stay there. I'm not even sure I was aware that it wasn't a condo/apartment area. I've gone by there many times in the past 34 years and have marveled mostly due to the fact that it is still there after all this time.

Still there and up to date, it's constantly expanding and they renovate their condos and studios every 5 years. The original owner was the Walt Disney type with a very similar family vision. It started heavily as a tennis/ golf resort with a state of the art tennis complex and a stadium which has held a us open. They arrant that big on tennis any more and the stadium is long gone but it's very family oriented. They lost their touch back in the early 2000's but have improved greatly within the past few years. I have just as much nalstalgia there as I do Disney World.

That was where we stayed for our first visit with kids, back in around 2006 I think. They just opened a whole new pool complex with a lazy river and stuff.
I never made the connection with the tennis though! There used to be a huge international junior tournament there each year with ages from 10 and up. It was the unofficial World Junior Championships for years, very prestigious. Pity the stadium isn't there anymore, wonder why it stopped hosting the event? Must have been moved to another venue and maybe the stadium just wasn't used enough anymore. Room to build more accommodation.
Our timeshare company was purchased by Holiday Inn VC a few years ago so Orange Lake was brought into the fold for us. It's a very nice resort and the property is always clean. It will be nice to stay 6 nights next week for $130 as well. We always stay at OL and I find the MB easier to use around the parks vs the tickets. Having a five year old and lots of stuff gets cumbersome trying to dig through my pockets to find the card for myself, my wife (who always wears clothes with no pockets), and my little one.

The best ones are the ground level villas, I've been staying on the same one every week for the past 25 years

There are a bunch of places not too far off property. It really depends on what you want a resort to offer.
If you just want inexpensive accommodations and limited amenities: Windsor Hills is great from what I have read
If you want to stay on Disney property: Wyndham Bonnet Creek. This resort, IMO, is better than anything on Disney property. 2BR resort rooms can be had for as little as $500 for 7-nights. Going rate is $7/1,000 points. Do a search for points charts.
Orange Lake Resort, Sheraton Vistana, Reunion Resort are some others and there are more. There are also home rentals that are great as well. It takes a lot more research, patience, and work but the savings are incredible. A 2BR unit at a DVC resort will run $500-$700 a night. That is the same price as 7-nights offsite.

Everything I've seen at Bonnet Creek for a 2BR is more than that for 7 nights... Any specific website I can go to to get a good rate like that at Bonnet Creek??? Otherwise, I have Sheraton Vistana booked in a 2BR for $145 a night... Have you liked it there? This will be our first time staying there and staying offsite.

Unfortunately, for Summer it is peak season. It will come down to when you are going, availability, and some luck at this point. I got a 1BR for $80/night back in December. The owner bought a bunch of resale contracts with points expiring and wanted to raise cash to work with Wyndham to convert those towards VIP status. 2BR @ Orange Lake resort, from the right owner, is going for about $100/nt in West Village for the Summer.
For my time at WBC, an owner checked availability when we are there. There are no times for a 1-week stay. There are shotgun blasts of 1-night availability. Still couldn't piece the right nights together to book 7 1-night stays. My advice is to go to many sites to learn the in's and out's of renting a timeshare.
