October or November

Have to reschedule my trip to WDW in July...

Always thought it would be fun to go in October...

But also wanted to go to the Food & Wine in November. I also see that the Christmas celebration starts on the 13th.

So maybe I could do the Food & Wine at Epcot and Verry Merry Mickey Christmas Celebration as well...

or is the Christmas thing too soon in November?

I don't have any real answers, but I would say do the November thing. I am going that time (because it is when I can take off from college easiest) to do work on my thesis (Disney Theme Park project, yay)... and we booked it then found out Food and Wine was at the beginning of our trip and first Christmas party in the middle.

If you haven't been to either before, go during that little nugget of time pre Thanksgiving week. They start Christmas decorations of October 31st, what better time to be there? Annnddd hurricane season will be totally over.

You would probably be better off going in November. I remember going in October one time and it was still pretty hot and humid, more than I cared to enjoy. November the weather is starting to cool off a bit (not by much but still something is better than nothing) plus you get to see the Christmas decorations and go to Food & Wine. Have a blast.

It does depend though because in October they offer the Halloween Party, which is quite fun as well.

I have been during both times of the year and they are both wonderful. I don't think that Christmas in November is to early though...remember, they start selling X-Mas decor right after Halloween now.

I was told that decorations for Christmas don't go up until the day after Thanksgiving, so I am glad to hear that something is there in November, too.

Christmas decorations starts November 1st, due to the amount of decorating in the parks. Not all will be up during my stay but we will see the early decorating process.

By the way macsmon, we're be at POP the same time as you!

For the most part late Oct. and early Nov. are when the F&WF happens, and for that time of year it's pretty good. The kids have off that week so school is no problem, it's not really hot, but can get warm. It's not really crowded, so rack rates are at their lowest for the year so you don't pay alot for a room on property. Granted the parks are not open as late, they still have EMH so you do get extra time. And then you have the F&WF, which gives you a great choice of food choices. For 8 out of the 12 visits the family and I have gone we have seen the F&WF, and it's always been a great time. We have also seen the F&GF which has also been a great time as well. And then we have been there for the week of Thanksgiving which started the Christmas celebrations, Osbourne lights, the music all over the place, just an amazing time. But this year with the addition of family and friends we get to have a first time visit vicariouly through them. Because it is their first time so this should be alot of fun. If you need any help arrainging things just ask Pam or Marie at KK, they can perform miracales from what I've seen. Which reminds me I need to direct my brother-in-law to one of them for park tickets, and he's in the airforce so he gets a break. Any other help there are plenty of people here who can answer any questions you have, good luck. Next visit, Nov. 4th to 11th, can't wait.
