Man it's been a while since I've posted here. Lots of new faces...anyway...

I will be visiting the World from 10/8-10/15. I will be traveling with someone who has never been there before.

We are currently slated to leave out of Newark at 6am on the 8th and leave MCO at 8pm on the 15th.

My questions to all of you, are as follow:

1) what day should we do MNSSHP on? a Thursday, Friday, Or Columbus Day?

2) contemplating adding Memory Maker to our package. Is it worth it?

3) It seems the dining plan isn't worth it. We're both 26 and will be on a tight budget.

Any advice on these questions or any other tips you may have, please share.

Thanks in advance!

1)any night but Thursday, I'll be there and I hate crowds. (but weekends like Friday and holiday like Monday are reallllyyy crowded. Thursday is the best night)
2) Memory maker is worth it to us, it depends on your interests in photos. if you ride a lot of attractions with onride photos it's a good deal, if you plan to go to meals with photopass, it's a good deal. if you just like posing for lots of pics and/or like magic shots, it's a good deal
3) Unless the dining plan is included, it is not a good deal.

Just a FYI, I was there last year the second week October and the party sold out that night I was there on the Thursday (10/10/13) - it might have actually sold out the day before.

See I was contemplating that Thursday thinking it wouldn't be so crowded, but heading into Columbus Day weekend, I figured there was a chance.

Hmm... Now I don't know what to do

Going Halloween night to sold out party....... glad I took advice of site to get early tickets ......
Memory maker still up in the air about myself ..... but ride pics do sound like a reason, what do they cost if you don't have mm?
Meal plan works for us couple of sit down meals and princess lunch.
Have fun.....

We got Memory Maker for free last month and I am so glad we did not pay for it!! So many pictures were dark, off center and out of focus. My daughter dabbles in photography and she was shocked at the poor quality of the pictures. We tried to fix a few in Photoshop, something we should not have had to do!

Won't ever purchase MM, that's for sure.

That's what I thought last year, but I learned that there are schools that have off the middle weeks of October now, and also there was the ToT marathon that weekend before...so the whole week was a little more crowded than I thought it would be. I was in Tomorrowland that Thursday in the afternoon and it was packed, and I was thinking what in the world in going on here!

For the Halloween parade, I couldn't even get a spot right on the curb...

1) eh, probably thursday. i'd think that would be the easiest day to get tickets to. we're not doing it this year - $62pp... i can think of other things i can spend that money on.

2) i've been thinking about it too. we don't have a 'real' camera - just iPhones - and it would give us the opportunity to get A LOT of photos. then i thought about buying a little point and shoot for $120, and think i'd rather do that. i can easily hand it to the photopass cm and if we see any photos that are exceptional, we'll buy one. yes, it's our 10th anniversary trip, but we RARELY buy ride photos and in the past have only bought photopass photos maybe 5 times, twice were planned for holiday cards.

3) we passed on it this year. i used a couple of online spreadsheet programs that were designed by other crazy disney people like me and it's so freaking close. i mean, dh eats 4000 calories a day on a normal day (weight training) so we'd have to buy extras anyway... and i eat mainly plant based, which are usually the cheapest items on the menu. it doesn't seem to be worth it for us at full price. also remember you're going during food & wine - the small plates offered around the world can count as snacks on the plan, but you can easily buy a couple of plates here and there and call it dinner.

In my experience with using the Memory Maker one time it was well worth it! No only did we get the photos from all the rides that offered it, we got a great many throughout all the parks. The quality was quite good on all of them so no complaints there. Regarding the dining plan, probably not. Just pay for what you want to eat. Alcoholic drinks are not included in the plans. Enjoy!
