I thought it was already stated it will be on Main Street?

I heard on my local news (South Florida) this morning that he would be speaking "with the castle as a backdrop". I'm assuming that that should mean he will be on the castle stage.

Im feel the same way about WED, he would be proud. This type of thing should happen more often.

I'm sure the cars will be back stage as will his entrance. I could almost picture him walking down an empty MSUSA towards the train station and up to the podium.

This is such a great honor to WDW. But it really is more than that. Think of some of the foreign guests who are going to be there. For them, this may be a trip of a lifetime just to go to WDW. But then you throw in the possibility of being able to see the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES. WOW.

If any of the Secret Service is reading this.....be sure the President stops by and says hello to Jose and his flock at Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland.... I would pay real money to see a video of the President enjoying the Tiki Room! Of course if his wife and children are along they would all quite seriously enjoy the show together.....

On a more serious note, I hope the President is able to announce something great policy wise for WDW and DLR.... Hope to see the speech when it airs....

Here's the interesting thing, usually the Secret Service has all trashcans and mailboxes removed from an area the president will be in. They have also been known to have sewer covers tack-welded so they cannot be opened.

Guaranteed the utilidoors will be off limits. They will not allow people and machines to be moving beneath the president. I would not be at all surprised to see snipers positioned on the roofs of the Main Street stores and train station roof. And no, this will not be Disney Security doing bag checks. I would fully expect metal detectors and possibly x-ray machines to scan all bags. Anything remotely looking like a weapon becomes the property of the Secret Service and its entirely possible they could take that person into custody.

If anything, the MK will be the most secure location on the planet for the time the president is there. Oh yes, I wouldn't recommend any aerial FLE shots today. :drevil:

My guess is very few people (in comparison with the number of actual park guests) will actually see the President while he is there. If the President strolls up main street and you see film clips of people on main street, I would be willing to bet that those people are either employees of WDC or a highly scrutinized few. There would be no reason to divert the masses to behind main street otherwise.

It will likely be like with most any political figure in this type of environment, a speech topped off with a little dog and pony.

what I find funny and somewhat satisfying, is that the guests who would normally give Disney security flack for taking their (insert dangerous item here) will whine and complain and secret service will basically tell them to shove it. I would love to see just one instance of secret service telling off a stupid guest in a way that Disney security isn't allowed to :ROFLOL:
