Nurse's Trip - The Final Days

HI all:

So, I left off with the disappointment that was Epcot and the Garden Grill when last I wrote. Fortunately, things seemed to have gotten back on track for the most part thereafter and a good time was had by all.

After Epcot, the family spent their next day at Typhoon Lagoon. They were surprisingly adventurous as two of them do not know how to swim. They spent about 6 hours there and then went back to the CBR to rest for a while before heading over the the MK again. That night was MNSSHP night and I had booked them for 'Ohana prior to the party. Yay! They seemed to really enjoy it there. They said the food was quite good and they enjoyed all the activities. As you might expect, the party was a big hit. They said it was not crowded at all and they saw both parades and the fireworks and still managed to get a few things done that they wanted to do again. They were most excited about the photo opps with the characters in Halloween garb and were especially proud that they were able to get their picture with Snow White and all 7 dwarves. As far as candy goes, they said they were shoveling it in the bags by double handfuls and her daughter actually got a second bag and filled it to overflowing as well.

The next day was the final day with a planned out schedule. It got off to a bumpy start as they had breakfast reservations at Boma but went to the wrong place. All through this, I have given my nurse very detailed instructions to follow and she has always joked that I must think she is stupid. Well, this time, I just told her it was at Boma at AKL resort, since I did not want to make her feel stupid....she went to AK instead and kept asking the people at the safari how to get to Boma. (I had told her she would be able to see some animals from the resort, so I guess she figured that was where she was supposed to go) :ROFLOL:

That little bump aside, they had a wonderful time. They did agree with me that AK is definitely the best representation of Hell on Earth temperature wise as this day apparently was the hottest of their trip and of course, being at AK makes it worse. Nevertheless, they got it all done and like me, were ready to go in about 6 hours. After a nap and swim at the resort, they went to Chef Mickey's for a late dinner but did not give me much report on that.

The last day was a "free" day with the exception of a planned lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe. This was the favorite of the trip with possibly only breakfast at CP rivaling it. They talked about eating at WC for about 15 minutes. The rest of the day was hitting the highlights at each park to do the things they enjoyed again, going to Downtown Disney for a while and finally, heading back to the MK one more time to see Wishes and Spectromagic which they had missed the first night of the trip.

All is all, they had a great time. Her husband is ready to go again and asked if he could go with my family next month LOL.

Thanks for listening!!:sohappy:

WooHoo!! :sohappy:

Haven't been to MNSSHP yet, but it sounds great (an on my to do list). Snow White and ALL 7 dwarves in one place? Haven't seen that either. 'Ohana was a great choice for dinner :king:

Love AK, but I have to agree that it is ALWAYS a killer weather wise. All that vegetation just makes things worse :zipit:. We love Boma for dinner and can't wait to try the breakfast buffet; maybe saying the AKL hotel instead of resort would have been clearer (more clear :veryconfu )? You're not going to let her live it down right? :lookaroun

The WCC is by far one of our top MUST do's each trip. The breakfast skillets are the best and love lunch (salads & sandwiches) and the dinner skillets there too :slurp: .

one last ((HUG)) to you for being so generous and really letting your nurse know you appreciate her. :king:

Thanks for following along with the trip reports. I have enjoyed reading your responses and as always, you ad I seem to be right on the same wavelength on just about all the aspects of the trip.

You will love MNSSHP if you ever get to go. It has been years since I have done MVMCP but I enjoyed it a little less for some reason and I am a major Christmas person.

So, when are we going to head down and hit the highlights we seem to enjoy?

As soon as I hit the lottery and pay off my daughter's college loans.
Yeah, we've carried her loans for 4 years and put off WDW for awhile. I'm hoping to get there again before Princess #2 hits college in a few years.

The DH has promised a Christmastime trip as soon as we can swing it again...kids education comes first. :zipit:

Do you think they will share some pics of the trip for us to see? maybe some of the decorations and the like? :lookaroun:

I attended MNSSHP for the first time ever last year and wow - it was awesome.

I did not get my picture taken with Snow White and the 7 dwarfs, but my niece did - It was a sight to see!

Hope they liked Chef Mickey's for dinner, we didn't care for it all that much.

Never had dinner at Bomas and am definately wanting to try it one day, but let me tell you the breakfast is a whole other story - this is some awesome food!

Thanks for the updates docnabox:sohappy:

PS - Maddy, I feel your pain on those college loans. Lindsay just started college.
