Now here's another money making idea for the parks

How about foot massage stations in each park. Have an air-conditioned room with 15-20 stations each with its own masseuse. Charge $15 for a 10 minute foot rub. Those things would be guarenteed to make money, I know after I've been walking around for 7 hours, I'd pay pretty much anything for a professional foot massage.

Or even a mechanical station, that way they don't have to pay masseusses.

I was gonna say the mechanical kind, but people are more likely to purchase a real massage from a real person than they are those machines. Unless they were some brand new state of the art machines designed by WDI that really peaked the guests' curiousity.

I bet it would go over huge. Heck, at the local renn faire, they had a woman doing chair massage and she was booked solid for the day. ($1/minute) Even I took advantage of a 20 minute massage!

Slightly off-topic, but my recipe for tired feet?

On my way back to the room, I pull a large 1-gallon zip loc bag out of my pocket/backpack (those things are great for everything on vacation) and fill it to the brim with ice.

When I get back in the room, I put the stopper in the tub, dump the ice in, and put about an inch of water in the bottom.

I let it sit for about five minutes, and then I put a towel on the floor. I step into the VERY cold water for as long as I can stand, then get out. As soon as I can, I get back in. After a few minutes I just walk back and forth from the dry to the cold wet until my feet are pleasantly numb.

I usually do this for about 15-20 minutes, and my feet love me for it. This combined with a liberal usage of moleskin daily around the problem areas and my feet are much less tired and much happier.

Just a tip!

Don't they have that water massage thing at PI? It always seems to be full on busy nights... maybe they could extend that to the parks.

I told my hubby the very same thing before we went last time, except I had the masseusses (sp?) in the lobby at each resort. Yes, I would pay big bucks to have my feet massaged each night upon return. Actually I would pay big bucks to have my feet massaged ANY night!

Would you rub someones hot sticky feet (for $15) after they'd been in sweaty training shoes for several hours :hurl:
It takes me all my time to handle my own feet, let alone someone else's
Still, its a good idea though

WOOHOO!

They can put them in place of all those crazy lobby "Charicature Drawing Stations"!!!

:sohappy:

Actually....my creative mind is at work again.....

How about a 1 foot deep hot tub that people can just walk around in all night outside???? It could be sort of a "lazy rivver stroll through a cool raging mountain stream".

I'm liking it!....and you heard it here first!

That was MY thinking exactly!

Plus, when you read about lawsuits alleging that the chracters inappropriately touched people, imagine what it'd be like if someone was SUPPOSED to touch you. If they ever do it at all, it should be mechanical foot massages. Give people little foot booties they can keep (because hey, who else would WANT them?) to keep 'em clean, and then have at it.

I was at Six Flags last week and they have the electronic foot massage chairs everywhere adn at each one there were lots of teenagers sitting there chatting without paying for a massage. My observation is that these things become just another bench in the park.

They would have to have someone there to make sure this doesn't happen. I am sure Disney would be prepared for this sort of thing.
