Nothing until November..

I can't wait to go to new Spaceship Earth!

Me, too. A bit worried it won't be as grand as the old version. I want to know what they are keeping and what they are not.

Something funny happened today - we had a huge storm (Imagine that...) and lightning killed my DSL modem. It sounded like a 12 gauge went off in my trailer. Anyhoo internet was down....I picked up my DSL modem and shook it and pieces were falling out. I turned it over to see what kind I had and it says "SIEMENS." Hope this is not...foreshadowing....

I honestly think you guys are blowing this out of proportion...

That is possible - although it falls into the category of opinion.

If you want to have a meet, do so, but a schedule and lanyards and contacting Jim MacPhee and t-shirts? That's too much.

The schedule is fine by most so far. At least it keeps us together so we can get to know each other better and enjoy our day together which I would think should be part of the reason for organizing a meet.

The lanyards are just something I personally researched. Took about 10 minutes of my time and was free to look at. I have no idea if we will end up getting them or not.

Dropping someone at Epcot an email that takes a couple of minutes to create just makes sense to me. Worst they could do is say "That's nice. You get nothing - good day sir." Best case maybe they do something however small it might be. It just seemed like Jim Mcphee appreciated the enthusiasm of the celebration 25 group. Who knows, maybe the guy is as geeked up about SE re-opening as some of us are.

The T-shirts were simply something I threw together. Took about 15 minutes or so to register and it was free. Nobody has to buy one to be a part of the group, so, again I don't see why anyone should have a problem with this.

C'mon guys, it's just reopening from a refurb. Celebrations are special because they only happen every once in a while. If everything is special then nothing is. Why don't we celebrate that it's Tuesday next week?

Ok. When was the last time Spaceship Earth, the symbol of Epcot, got a refurb of the scope and magnitude as this? At least a couple of years right? So, to me, an Epcot fan, this is pretty special.

Im sure it isn't special to everyone, but of course, everybody's different and luckily there's no such thing as forced participation in this event.

Personally, Im just looking forward to hanging out at Epcot with my friends from here on the boards. :D

Can't believe the t-shirt design was just "thrown together" - dang! Using the computer to design stuff is beyond me. I still want a shirt, BTW...

The SSE refurb is the perfect reason to get together. It is always the first ride we do when we get to EPCOT. Even thought you can race to Soarin or Test Track and get in before the big lines. SSE is also the last ride we do before we leave - we do a lot of day-trips and miss Illuminations - but SSE is always there for our good-bye. Having it down on 10/1 was bittersweet. OK it sucked. So C-25, although it was a complete 2 day event - lacked SSE. We've got to go back, we missed a spot!

And I really do want to hang out with you all that I've gotten to know on these boards. There was TMI and the rain and the excitement of C-25. I need something more laid back so we have more time. I really don't care if we have a formal schedule. It is good if someone will make one - but OK if we wing it.

HEY where are we going to eat lunch? Dinner? If the schedule included riding SSE and eating food, I will be very happy. OH and a margarita, too.

OK that is my 2 cents worth. :D You may continue with the planning....
