Wow, what a predicament. I wouldn't suggest retaliating against your friend out of spite, but I can understand the temptation. I hope this doesn't ruin your friendship long term. :-/

Married Groomsmen

Just a FYI - if it's OK to have a Matron of Honor, I don't see the problem with a married Groomsman. I was a bridesmaid in a Polish wedding a long (40 years) time ago, and I'm pretty sure some of the Groomsmen were married. I can't imagine that things have gotten stricter/more traditional since then. ;)

Well I am partially Polish and that is a bunch of beans. There is nothing wrong with a married Best man, just as there is nothing wrong with a married Maid of Honor. My husbands BM was married, I'd say find another Best man, and move on. Don't let this influence your friendship. Good luck and God Bless your wedding:king:

I'm of Polish descent and I've never heard of that tradition. If you're sure that's the real reason for his backing out I'd just chalk it up to his just trying to please his future wife and let it go at that. I wouldn't back out of his wedding. Weddings sometime make otherwise normal people do crazy things. :D Not worth losing a friend over it.

I would respectfully ask him to cover your costs incurred. Or reduce your present for their wedding by at least that much... :lookaroun
