Not Wearing Magicband's on Principle...?

I am the only one in my family that has had issues with the MBs. I think perhaps it was a rash that was related to the medication I take....as that was the only difference. But mad did it leave me with one annoying rash. I ended up with mine clipped on my husband's belt loop. Too bulky for a pocket.

Irritant contact dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, heat rash, sunburn irritation...long list.

Flea bite, bedbug sores, wart, hyperhidrosis, folliculitis, hives...

Or perhaps someone just does not want to wear the stupid thing.

Tennis elbow.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
Tan lines. I pay good money to go to Florida and get tan! Anything not covered by clothing is entitled to tan!

Haven't worn one yet... soon though. I hope it doesn't bother my Mom's pacemaker, but maybe we can just use her card ( I'll ask at the front desk at check-in.

If you already have a plastic RFID ticket linked to her MDE profile (it would show up as a card in the Magic Bands & Cards section), you're good to go using that as the room key and for everything in the parks.

Otherwise the front desk will give you a card you can link. (Though some posters have suggested that with some CM's you have to be insistent when requesting the card from them)

well no because every time you use you have to take it out. the band on the other hand stays on your wrist, so it is staying put.
The card does not have to be completely taken out with each use. Unless one is making a lot of purchases to a room account, the MagicBand or card is only used a few times a day. And when it comes to reading the cards are less sensitive.

The MagicBand must be remembered for each visit. With the ability to reuse media a card can stay in a wallet and be loaded with admission as needed.

Plus they cause headaches in some undisclosed percentage of users.
Don't forget it plots murder.

I found they got sweaty (or rather I got sweaty under the band). I clip it to my belt loop and it works fine.

Have they stopped issuing new bands for each trip or am I misinterpreting this?

It has always been limited to on-site stays.
I assume then we are talking about the Magic Band solely as admission media?

As for a card staying in a wallet, I would guess that is a personal preference. Between the things I have to carry day to day (drivers licenses, conceal/carry permit, corporate card, debit card, credit card, heath insurance card, etc.) a Disney card that I'm going to use 3-4 times a year just hangs out with the MBs until it's trip time.

This trip coming up is the first time I will have had one, in the past I have always had a card which was always a bit sketchy as the only thing I tend to take around the parks is my camera and sometimes a phone and there is always the potential for it to get lost.

i can't foresee me wearing the band though as I always wear a watch and its not really my thing so it will probably go in a pocket/ on a belt loop however It will get worn when at the pool as obviously there is limited storage space for a plastic card ha.

he means that you can keep an old card in your wallet all the time, but you have to remember to bring your band and put it on when you go to the parrk. Personally I would much rather remember something once a day and then not have to worry about pulling out my wallet when I enter a park, buy something or need to use a FP etc.

In defense of the cards, I found on our trip when we went after the roll-out of RFID door locks and park turnstiles, but before the introductions of Bands so the RFID card was the only option, I could keep the room key card in my thin front-pocket wallet and just tap the wallet to the reader. (I do the same with my subway card here in Boston) It didn't read as well when it was buried in the middle of my regular back-pocket wallet, though.
