Today I tried booking a trip to WDW for October 2013. I called once this after to get some specs as to price for a Lagoon View at the Grand Floridian, Club Level Lagoon View at Yacht Club, and for giggles, I asked about Polynesian (which had availability, even though we prefer not to stay there.) After I thought it over, I picked the Yacht Club option and called back to book it. I gave the second women all the information, and she went to confirm it, and the booking system went HAYWIRE. I was on hold from that point for over 30 minutes. The woman came back and told me that my room was gone and there was no longer availability at Yacht Club for Club Level Lagoon View. She offered me either a 2-bedroom villa at Boardwalk or a 1-bedroom villa at Beach Club (which I love both hotels, but don't need the space and wanted to stay somewhere different.) However, these options were not able to be confirmed because DVC has a 7 month booking window when you want to stay at a resort other than your home resort. Plus, since the room wasn't set in stone, I have a feeling that I will be boxed out because owners at Boardwalk and Beach Club book for October way in advance for Food & Wine Festival. I WAS SO SHOCKED, AND THEN I BECAME ANGRY! I hung up, and called back to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor told me that my points (I am using DVC points for this reservation) were in limbo and I wouldn't be able to do anything with my membership for 5-7 business days because they need to have an IT person locate my points and put them back in the correct use year. So now, I have no room, and I have a tentative option that may not even pull through. What do you think of this? I am still angry, and felt the need to vent!
