NOT found in a travel guide

I'm trying to make a fun list of things to do for a friend going next month, but having never been, it's not going too smoothly. What are some cute/quirky ideas of things for people to do there? My initial thought was something like a scavenger hunt, but for picture ops, etc. It's eventually going to end up in a travel journal, so any ideas that could produce some memorable photos would be much appreciated! That being said, I'm open to any ideas, not just photo-related.

Well, this is a travel guide, but it has some fun things. A little out of date at this point, but our family has enjoyed some of the things in the Passporter's Treasure Hunts at Walt Disney World book. It is available on Amazon and other websites. Just bear in mind that it is from 2006 and some of the things in it are not around any more.

Something fun for us was to do a tour. We did two Epcot Segway tours through World Showcase which allowed us to see it unlike we ever had.

Also I read Hidden Magic of WDW and we had fun finding a lot of the secrets noted. I highly recommend it to your friend especially since theyve never been. Good luck!

Like DisneyPrincess said, try a tour, whether it be at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT or Animal Kingdom. Some of the tours are pretty pricey but others are reasonable. Interested in animals? Try the Backstage Safari tour at Animal Kingdom. It's a 3 hour tour that includes a visit to one of the animal pens, the veterinary hospital, and other backstage areas. A van takes you to each location, so it's a friendly tour for those that don't want to do a lot of walking.

A hidden Mickey hunt is always fun. We've done a number of these over the years. There are Hidden Mickey books out there, and lots of lists on the internet. You could choose some, maybe look at a list of top hidden mickey's, and make a list for your friend to find.

You could also do a character hunt, which would produce memorable photos. Make your friend a checklist of characters in the parks, and see if they can get their photo with as many as possible. You could do the same thing with park icons - taking pictures with each land sign, or each Epcot country sign. Get a photo with a hat on from each country in Epcot. Things like that. :)

Just a few ideas - welcome to WDWMagic by the way!

Thanks you guys. I already had hidden Mickeys in mind, and it's only logical that finding other secrets should follow. The character idea was great, too! Unfortunately, they're only their for a two-day span and won't be able to hit Animal Kingdom at all. Bummer, I think it would have fun!

Buy a passport kit at Epcot. As you wander world showcase, the Cast Members will stamp them and write welcoming messages. Most people don't know about them (since the Duffy or Perry masks are popular for the kids). It's fun to meet the CMs from the other countries and it's a great souvenir.
