not crazy about all the Halloween decor. Am I the only one?

i think they were looking for a time of year to go that's not really hot like the summer but maybe without the fall decorations. i still suggest january or into february before it gets real busy with spring break and before it get really hot. by mid march the temps are pretty equal to those of sept/oct but the crowds are bigger.

Why will this be your last trip to the MK?!?

I really don't think we have more than 1 more trip in us. We are advancing in age. And with finances the way they are for us because of medical bills and such, I just don't know.? I really want to make one more trip down before its too late for us. I hope we can do it.

I see that I am really in the minority as far as the Halloween stuff goes. Oh well. Sorry. I know that it wouldn't ruin our trip. Not even close. I was just wondering what you all thought. Thanks for your alls input.

By the way, what is a troll?

I was there this past Septmeber with the DWF and we just loved the Decorations. We attended the MNSSHP on Saturday September 18, 2010 and had one of the best times ever. Good music was playing the headless horsemen and the parade and Hallowishes. Then we went trick or treating and got way to much candy and then totaly enjoyed the HM and the mist/fog that was present. This was our first time and want to go again next year but dress in costumes and really be part of the fun.

I was there for MNSSHP.. I'm an avid horror nights goer and MNSSHP was a major let down. I felt like there should have been halloween music throughout, maybe characters walking around. I never felt immersed in halloween at any point of the night.

Dude, I thought HHN was a COMPLETE let down!!!:mad: The stupid little "haunted houses" were just stupid! The only thing I liked was the fog in the streets and the alcohol lol. Even the workers jumping out at people was just stupid....and BIASED they only jumped at women. lol

I've never been to MNSSHP. i want to go. I went to the Christmas last year. I thought the decor was great. I loved the parade but I didn't like the experience (another post). I would LOVE to go for MNSSHP!

So, have they added more decorations for the parties? I was there in September and was really looking forward to fall and/or halloween decorations, but I was underwhelmed by what was there. I was expecting scarecrows, Indian corn decorations, and pumpkins all over (REAL pumpkins, not shiny plastic ones) like we have in a theme park near my home.

You are not alone in that thought, ThanksC&J. I am not a Halloween person at all, so the decorations don't do anything for me either.

The first time I was there with the current decorations was in 2007 with the second being this past September. I've never had any problems with them, they're colorful and help you get in the mood for fall.

Sorry to hear that. I often fret about a time like that that will inevitably be in our future. When we first went during Halloween I can say that it didn't "feel" Disney to me at first because it wasn't classic, it was decorated. After the trip though, we think back on it and loved it just the same. I wouldn't want to aways go at Halloween but if it was my last time I may prefer a more traditional trip.
By the way A troll is someone who purposely says things to get everyone all stirred up. Don't worry, you weren't being a troll.

I prefer the parks with no holiday decorations, especially when you factor in the downtime for attractions that get a seasonal overlay. However, I realize I'm in the minority. I'm a purist, when I go to the parks, I want to see the MSEP, not a "seasonal parade", ditto fireworks, area background music, etc.

The decorations, whether at Halloween or Christmastime, are usually very tastefully done, especially at some of the resorts (the Grand Floridian during Christmas is exquisite). I would like to see some more lights in some of the parks (like the AWOL Lights of Winter). I enjoy the fact that WDW can be whimsical enough to get into the various holiday themes and festivities....
