No Snow White cottage...will the coaster ever happen?

Dumbo is going to be a separate mini land.

Eric's castle is a perfect fit. European and Seaside.

I am confused.

Eric's is sorta a stretch. Since his castle is on the coast, it looks quite odd since it's on a tiny pond, but that's only if you look at it literally- and that's the last thing I focus on since it is in Fantasyland. :p

Why can't Goofy's farm be near a forest?

I'm thinking that there will be a TON of water features, as we have seen in the art, and in the model.

Goofy isn't European. Nor overly "Fantasy"ish. He's in the "Toon" universe.

Well since there is no "Toon"town why can't he reside in Fantasyland? Would you not allow Roger Rabbit to be included into Fantasyland if the rest of Toontown wad demo'd at Disneyland?

BTW, Have you met a walking, talking dog before?:lookaroun

OH- and I'm pretty positive Dumbo is set in the United States.:p

No, he wouldn't fit. FantL is Magic, it's European, it's classic. Roger is a "cartoon"- in both story and theme.

Again, cartoon style of character vs. fantasy character.

On those lines, I think Philharmagic is really in the wrong place. Great attraction, but it makes no thematic sense as it's in the "Toon" universe.

Yeah, Dumbo is. That's why it's going to be in a Mini-Land. Separate from Fantasy Forest.

I'm all for coasters, but if they touch one hair on this attractions head to put a rollercoaster in I'm chaining myself to the Castle walls and singing "Hell no, we won't go!" ;)

Hmmmm.....cool new Snow White coaster....or....the same old dusty, antiquated dark ride.....
Not even close. Gimmie the coaster.

However, I see no reason why both could not exist.

Seems like it would make more sense to move the "scary" dark ride to the forrest area.

Since the coaster isn't gonna happen, why not blue sky it at this point. Combine both into one ride! - you start out as the standard dark ride with a slow cart ride past Snow White, through the Queen's castle and out the dungeon into the forest. The ride car starts to speed up as you go through the forest and it gets darker, eyes shining from the forest and tree limbs stretching out. Then you slow down again as you approach the dwarves cottage. Nice friendly scenes with music. You leave the cottage and pass by the Queen. You come to the dwarves mine and your car plunges into the mine. At this point it becomes a quick roller coaster ride through the mine past places where a million diamonds shine, dwarves calling out for help, etc. At the end of the roller coaster segment is where the Queen/hag tries to drop a rock on you. Then the ride slows back down for the standard dark ride finish. See - best of both worlds. And it would fit perfectly in a Fantasy Forest setting. I'd ride that. :animwink:

What about the basic fact that Barnstormer just isn't a very good ride?

I don't see how it really matters what theme they slap onto it. Unless they drastically adjust the track layout, it's a boring kiddie coaster that's over in 30 seconds.

It reminds me a little of Gadget's Go Coaster at DL. Terrific job of theming, but the ride is realllllllly lame. I had more fun standing in line than riding.

Very similar rides. Both Vekoma junior coasters. Different layout, though.
(Gadget's and Woody Woodpecker's at Uni are the same model.)

I don't mind Barnstormer. It serves it's purpose well.

Yeah, I don't mean to come off as bashing it (which I was ). I know it's there to let families with young kids ride a coaster; I just don't get all the excitement over what the theme will be on these boards. Dwarfs, Dumbo, whatever...it's still not going to be much fun for adults, if it's the same track.

Thanks for the info about the Gadget/Goofy comparison. I wondered just how similar they were.

Very. This is the layout for Gadget's (unless I am mistaken...that happened once...). It is a Vekioma Roller Skater.
Barnstormer is a customized version of the same model, with a slightly different layout.
Flying Unicorn/Flight of the Hippogriff is also a different version (longer and taller) of the same model.
