No Park Closings

As of 12:00 est, all parks are running under normal conditions and no phase closings are planned. One side note, the 9:30 Hoop-de-Doo show has been cancelled due to a low guest count.

I know! I'm so dissapointed!

*pouts*

The crowds are spread out pretty evenly over the parks. Probably this evening when people goto MK or Epcot or fireworks it'll get worse at those two.

Is that because everyone is out watching fireworks at 9:30? I had never heard of one of the dinner shows cancelling for low guest count.

That's pretty incredible about the Hoop-dee-doo show. You need to make reservations so far out, we planned the whole day around getting to our reservation time at the show. And, what now for those without dinner that were suppose to eat there? I wonder if they got a call?

Can anyone verify that there are still no phased closings in effect at any of the parks? I'm hoping to go to MK to see the fireworks....

It was wall to wall people last night, and it didn't close. I don't think it'll happen today, especially since it's almost 5pm and nothing has closed yet.

It was busy last night at MK but it didn't seem that bad. After the fireworks we rode about 4 rides and got there at 8:30 and left about 11. The longest wait was 15 minutes and the parking lot was no where near full. We are getting ready to leave now and I still haven't decided if we are going to try and hit the Studios and Epcots fireworks. I am sorta surprised to see that most of the entertainment at the Studios is done at 6 and there is none in the evening. You would think they would do more in the evening since it is 4th of July and will be crowded. Well off to the parks.

My friend was at MK last night on Main Street and claimed it was wall to wall people, but I have read a few posts where people said it didn't seem that busy last night.... maybe alot of people were there just for the shows? Standing around Main Street, not on line for rides? Or was he trying to scare me.... grr....

When i just left a 7:00 pm the park was still closed and they were not letting anyone park, They were directing them to another park. Only Walt Disney Resort Guests and Annual passholders are able to enter the park and the parking lot. There are a ton of guests waiting it out at the MK turnstiles waiting to get in when they do reopen. Good Luck.

Right now? Yes. However, by the time you get up World Drive it may have changed again. Maybe.

I'm at MGM right now, waiting for Indy to start at 9:30. RNRC was at 110 min. and Tower at 60 min. on the wait times board about an hour ago. GMR was down and ST was at 10 min. DAK was pretty dead earlier... Everest wait = 20 min. Epcot: Soarin' - 90 min., Test Track - 110 min., M:S - 30 min. It really just seems like a typical summer day.

'FULL' was next to MK on a sign on my way to MGM at around 7:30. I'll be heading there after Indy is over.

We got to the MK area about 8:15pm (we take the back way, by DU) and while I bypassed the toll booths (so I didn't talk to a parking CM), there were PLENTY of cars parking in the Grumpy parking lot. When we left at 9:40, there were STILL cars coming into the lots and plenty of people on the trams.

We watched from the Ferry dock area at the TTC, and there were TONS of people doing the same. I overheard numerous people saying they had not been at Disney at all that day, just came for the show that night. There were a few people who came over from another park, to see the show before they went home, and a few people who came over from MK to watch from the TTC and then hightail it to the car. It was nice because we could see the full 360 degrees of fireworks.

While leaving the Grumpy lot, we noticed activity on the road next to it (I think World Drive? The road that you take to the right of the toll plaza that goes toward the Contemporary). There were either police or security officers directing traffic - not near an intersection. I'm puzzled as to this, since the only places that road really goes is 1) the Contemporary 2) the security and Pluto parking lots 3) backstage MK/DU/West Clock lot and 4) that road you can make a right on that goes over the Tram tunnel and that you can access the Kennel from. Any ideas?
