No more Wishes?

As air and water pollution continue to increase in Orange County Florida, I think WDW will be forced to diminish their pyrotechnic displays in the near term and most likely eliminate them entirely by the end of the decade. Light shows will replace the fireworks.

Pretty extreme view. Werent we supposed to run out of oil sometime next decade too?

I would assume Disney pyrotechnic displays are some of the less pollutant shows out there. They would have to be, since they put on two a night.

They are. In fact they developed an air propulsion system because of the complaints at DL about the pollution. I believe those were brought to WDW.

Other way around. Developed here, taken to Disneyland. ROE is the only WDW show with this technology.

Wishes is like ... fingers on a chalkboard when those moppets start singing. UGH!!! Beautiful pyro, though.

But word is that Disney is indeed planning a replacement, but not in the near term (2011-2012) but likely before they ever put out a new parade for MK.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course but Wishes got me to a "happy place" many nights after a rough day being outside the wire while I was in Iraq before the surge. Those few minutes of children singing and Disney films' audio reminded me of what I was fighting for as much as pictures of my family did sometimes. My first trip to The World after coming home, I cried like a baby after Wishes; I knew that I was finally all the way home. Everything changes and I'm sure the new show will be great but Wishes will always have a very special place in my heart.

Sorry, but anything is better than Miley or High School Musical inspired songs. The tweens have Hollywood Studios' shows and parades. We can have some classic Disney sounds in MK.

They really should take Share a Celebrated Dream Come True whatever parade out of its misery.

The daytime parade (now with its..what? 7th title and song now?!) badly needs to go. I think the best option would be to just drive the darn thing into the Seven Seas Lagoon one afternoon and start all over.

Wishes holds an incredibly special spot in my heart from my college program so I hope it never goes away (although I'm very aware that at some point it will). I love Illuminations and Fantasmic too but would love to see Fantasmic get an upgrade. Maybe change the story around a little to recapture our attention with a new show while keeping the old charm and excitement of the show.

I know it can't go on forever, and I know there are many who wish it would go away, but I got engaged immediately after Wishes ended "Here, (presents ring) your wish came true!"

When it all gets quiet, and those two wishing stars cross over the castle, and I hear him whisper in my ear "Make a wish". . . *sigh*

Pure Disney magic.
This is pretty much the sweetest thing I've ever read.
