I have heard the Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom has stopped searving soup in the bread bowls. Is This True!!!

Sorry to confirm this for you folks, but that is right. I went to order one in May and did not as I noticed it was in a plastic bowl.
However - if you want something even better in a bread bowl, head over to Mara - the counter service restaurant in Animal Kingdom Lodge - and get the African Stew. It's phenominal. :slurp:

I know barnum was recently in WDW so I'll go along with his call. I'll check for myself in July...could be the bread bowls have been "low Carbed" out of existance. They really should give you a choice. :wave:

I went to Columbia Harbor House all the time..and this time I decided I wanted to get a bread bowl, I saw that it was in a plastic bowl..and I am like "What the heck, is that? I ordered a bread bowl, not a plastic bowl" There like "Want some chicken fingers, instead?" I took the chicken fingers..I was pretty ed off about them getting rid of them.

I've contaced Deb's site to see if the bread bowls are back (maybe they were just trialing the plastic).
I have to admit whilst I used to devour the whole bowl I noticed a lot of guests dumping practically the whole bowl. I guess if too many people did that then Disney management decided they were a waste.

Honestly, the bread bowl here in Florida was a compelte let down after having a few of them in CA at DL/DCA. The bread in DL was soooo much better and the soup (gumbo) was way better than whatever they served here (some concoction with corn in it).
I had it 1 time here at Columbia Harbor House and never again.

If you are craving a bread bowl, look for a Panera Bread store near you. They have breads for sale but also sell soup and sandwiches and the sour-dough bread bowl is an option. I know, it's not the same as Disney but it is a option if you are really "craving" a hollowed-out bread loaf.
