I'm sure disney would be happy to sell any coffee drinker one of their beautiful ceramic mugs from the giftshop. Likewise, I'm sure they would also sell you extra points so that your stay will include a 1 BR or better accomodation stocked with glassware.

We stayed in a studio at Boardwalk 2 weeks ago. We had both styrofoam cups and ceramic mugs. There was a bottle of Palmolive and a fresh sponge for cleaning. After seeing that expose on what cleaning crews were doing to the glasses in hotels, I was glad to have disposable cups and I certainly appreciated being able to wash my own mugs and coffee pot.

If you need a ceramic mug that bad just pack one, they aren't that big or that heavy:veryconfu:veryconfu

I think the point is why should we have to. We have always had ceramic mugs and glasses and as everyone says we are supposed to be at our home away from home. I wouldn't have plastic cups at home so why should i here!

My problem comes in that because there is only 2 of us in my party and we would only pick a studio that we are being punished! It cannot be for health reasons if normal hotel rooms and 1 bed and above can have them!

Very unhappy with this

My point is is that it's only a coffee mug, nothing major. And for the record,we eat on disp. plates and mugs a lot at my house, both of us work long hrs and have 2 sons in every sport you can think of.My wife sets out things for dinner, I'll cook and clean up but less work for us. On vacation the last thing I want to do is wash dishes.

Update: DVCNews.com is reporting that not only will glassware be returning to all studios, but they intend to put glass washers:

Glassware will return to studio accommodations
This spring, DVCMember.com reported that, as part of a continuous review of cleaning practices in Disney Resort hotels, leaders determined that hand washing dishware and glassware in Disney Vacation Club studio units wasn't sufficient to meet the company's cleanliness standards.

As a result, studio accommodations at Disney Vacation Club Resorts in which glass-washing equipment is available began washing glassware and ceramic mugs in the glass washers, while stand-alone Disney Vacation Club Resorts switched to disposable cups (since glass washers aren't available at those resorts).

Disney Vacation Club leaders investigated the possibility of installing glass washers at specified locations within the stand-alone properties, and DVCMember.com is pleased to report that Disney Vacation Club will begin installing glass washers at those properties this fall.

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort are scheduled to have glass washers installed by Oct. 1, with installation concluding at Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa by Nov. 1. The glassware is, in turn, scheduled to return to the studio accommodations at these resorts once the equipment is installed.

So, when we arrive at BWV next week, what kind of container will be provided for my morning coffee?

...................or should I pack a commuter mug?

You should have the ceramic mugs and glassware. These were returned to the studios of the resorts that had a regular hotel component after DVC re-examined their new policy. Our studio at AKV in May had everything back. It sounds like this announcement only affects the stand alone resorts OKW, SSR, VB and HH which I assume have had disposable cups instead of the glassware because they had no means of properly washing the cups and mugs.

If not just ask Mousekeeping for them...We did that back in April and we had no problem getting both glasses and mugs!!
