I just checked the Disney World site and they seem to have made an update to their website for the Candlelight Dinner Package, they removed Le Cellier from the list of participating restaurants. I really wanted Le Cel, but hopefully updating the list means we will soon be able to make reservations for it.

Le Cellier isn't close to as good as people make it out to be. It isn't even in my top 3 in Epcot.

Don't know if that helps.

My wife insists that it is amazing, but I've been underwhelmed each time. I think it's good, but I'd much rather each at Biergarten, Bistro, Paul's or head over to Yachtsmen.

I just want them to hurry about and announce the CLP dates and guest narrators. Last year they did it around June 26th...this year I'm hearing not till mid July...sigh! hurry up! LOL I have plans to make!! :p

They did that because of the recent menu change. They used to only have a lunch package anyway and now that the prices are the same for lunch and dinner (and much higher, of course), they've taken the package off.

@Lisalyn, I, too, am anxious for the packages to go on sale. I have everything else ready to go for our December trip.

I enjoy Le Cel, but not for the steaks. The Sausage Appetizer was/is always good, the desserts are great, I like the bread, and my wife used to swear by the Cream Cheese Mash Potatoes there. I was hoping with their lunch and dinner menu becoming standard, they'd open dinner back up there, instead they got rid of lunch. It was a pipe dream, but thankfully we plan to go to both Garden Grill and Via Napoli, so no big deal.

The steaks in France are better if you want to eat in Epcot, or better yet take a walk out the World Showcase gate to Flying Fish or of course, Yachtsman. Flying Fish is Seafood, but their most popular dish is their steak. I've never been to Shula's, don't make it to DTD often.

Shula's is in the Dolphin hotel IIRC, not DTD

Ill be honest, we ate there last year and will eat again there this year but not for the steaks. I enjoy the ambiance, pretzel bread, cheese soup an poutine!

Is La Cellier bad? I was thinking of booking an ADR there for my trip in the fall...
The last time that I ate there was for a Candlelight Processional dinner package, I think. The food was not very tasty, and the service was less than "magical". I had only gone for the sake of my daughter, and I don't think that I'll be going back any time soon, as I tend to avoid overpriced mediocrity whenever possible.

Le Cellier is becoming less popular now that it is more expensive, but it was never all that great, even when everyone HAD to eat there, like did at Boma and Les Chefs before it and now at Be Our Guest and, it seems, 'Ohana, of all places.

You just never can predict which place will get they hype, lol. But none of them are as good as they're made out to be.

So long as people stay out of Restaurant Marrakesh, I couldn't care less where everyone MUST eat. But it is interesting to watch places to in and out of favor.

Sorry to get off-topic but I never understood why 'Ohana is so popular. The food seems spotty at best and you can get a much better view (and food) over at Narcoosse's.

It wasn't always so popular, lol. It just is now.

None of the restaurants that are super popular have been the best restaurants around. They just get popular, so everyone figures, "If it's that popular, I want to go, too!" Vicious circle.

'Ohana, like the others before it, is fine, but not as good as people say.

IMO, lol.

Its the whole experience overall. But men love beef served on skewers. But like you said it can be spotty at times. I had one really bad meal but then the next one it reminded me why I enjoy it so much.
