No Haunted Mansion Holiday This Year

After doing a little web-searching, I found out that the Disney Special Events Dept. has released the information of this years Haunted Mansion Event at WDW. It is not Nightmare Before Christmas themed. In fact, it's the same event I have been to the last two years...The 999 Happy Haunts Event. With the logo for the event, and the fact that this event was announced makes me almost certain that we will have no Haunted Mansion Holiday this year.

If any are interested, registration starts in late May.

Thats correct, HMH is NOT comming to WDW this year. Rumor has it (According to jim hill) that the money went to Stitch instead.

Of course this came out months ago.

HM Holiday Rumors

A friend of mine is a manager at the Contemporary, and the rumor is that HM Holiday will be debuting at WDW in 2005. In fact, that will probably be part of the May 5th announcement.

I tend to but a little belief in this rumor, as I was in the gift shop next to the Mansion tonight and they had a display of Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise for sale.

As they do everywhere. Merchandise is no longer exclusive...you can pick up the same things at the DisneyStore as you can at the Parks.

I'm not a big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas...but it will be nice to see something new...and new lighting and sound systems will be good for the ride too.

Yeah but I still wish it was coming the year. I don't want to make a trip out to CA just to see that lol

Between that and DL's Indianna Jones are the only things that could get me out west

btw wth is mousehunt 2004?!!?!?

I just hope that when they do start the HMH business that they do it after Halloween each year. To me it seems the Haunted Mansion should be left in it's original form for Halloween. It's the Haunted Mansion's big holiday! The perfect night to really get in the spirit of it and savor every second of it's classic creepiness. What better night is there for this tradition?

HMH is a cool production and seeing it at Thanksgiving and Christmas would be cool. In fact, make Halloween it's last night of the year annually! The first couple weeks of November would be a good time to switch it over, instead of in September the way Disneyland does it. Then re-open it as HMH for two months, keeping it into the first half of January.

HMH just ruins Halloween for me at DL. It's just too Christmassy. It's like when department stores put up their Christmas decorations in October. I like my Halloween without sleigh bells and santa hats, thanks.

what would a manager in one of the resorts have anything to do with WDI, WDA and MK OPS?

and what else... my sources say there is no Haunted Mansion Holiday... in 2004 or 2005. However... I will wait for updates, since they aren't typically too accurate for anything farther than 6-7 months in advance

Wow, what a shock... I get a sarcastic reply to a post. Never got that before on these boards (oh wait... I get it all the time).

I thought some people would like to hear what someone who may have connections in important places (at least moreso than I), as someone in management would be a tad more reliable of a source than a ride operator. This person told me about the Canada water ride rumor about 3 weeks before I saw it on here. But, he could totally be way off base. I mean, this is called the news and RUMORS forum isn't it?

The fact is very few people know what's going to happen May 5th... and if you're one of those who do know, you're not going to be telling us fans on this message board since you've likely been sworn to secrecy. I've chatted with the Disney PR people thru my workplace... they know the company line. I also remember the thread on these boards that said there would be no way Soarin' would open in Florida, at least not with the California movie. Well look what's happening next spring. When it's all said and done, we're left only to have fun and speculate. Or maybe just speculate for some.

I'm just pumped about going to the big press events for the first time to see all the hype first hand

eh.. I have my sources too... and they have repeatedly told me to not trust any WDW sources short of EXTREMELY high ranking management and executives...
