No Handles on New Refillable Mugs

Im thinking outside of the box here: When visiting with my family usually one or two people take everyones mugs for coffee, soda, etc. because thats simple and easy for most families, but maybe, just maybe, disney realizes that when there are fewer members of the family traveling to the drink machine, less money is spent in dining. Whereas if you take multiple people with you, some who may be young children, the "hey i want that" " I'm hungry" "mommy can I get this," begins. By creating more foot traffic in dining areas they not only save money on no handles but they also have the possibility of increasing profits.

I know that was really crazy but I just don't know with disney anymore. Anything is possible.

I know after drinking an entire beverage serving I feel as though I've been mugged:

They never did fit in my cup holder. I mean I survived, but it was always a tad thing that bothered me.
What's interesting about this is that auto manufacturing companies are starting to alter their cup holders to fit mugs with handles. Seems Disney is going in the other direction. Might be a good time for the auto industry to collaborate with the retail and entertainment industry. Oh wait they already did...it is called Test Track.

How much are costs reduced though for a plastic handle? Disney has had the handle for as long as I can remember if not since the beginning of the mugs.
This is what I was thinking, although I'm sure the cost saving measure is their reasoning. These things cost pennies to make and I doubt the majority of guests even get them. So this thing costs pennies to make with a handle and... Slightly less money, probably only in bulk, to make without a handle.

But yeah, the clear solution is just to offer both even if the handle version had an upcharge. Is there a clear and obvious "recycle this message" on the mugs, too? You replace them every trip unless you accumulate them as home mugs.

This is actually quite simple. Disney reduces their costs by eliminating the plastic handle, but does not pass the savings along to the
consumer. THEN, Disney will come out with a detachable handle similar to those sold by Tervis in corresponding colors for say $2.95 or $3.95 each when customers start complaining about no handles. Win-Win for Disney.

This is the company that decided to 'sell' a tray to carry your F&W samples.

My car is a 2010 model and mugs with handles fit just fine.

I don't see this as a significant cost savings to Disney, so I believe they may offer both designs if sales show guests like both.
Yes, the cost savings would be minimal. But of course everyone wants to jump on the "Disney being cheap" bandwagon, which is ridiculous here.
This is clearly a test.

Nobody has to drink soda all day. Anyone concerned with the cost (or health) has the option of drinking water. I don't pay for [uhealthy] drinks unless they have alcohol in them LOL.
I agree, wasting money on unhealthy soda = dumb. But investing money in life-enhancing booze = genius.

Because real life is the pits so if I can drink my morning coffee on my way to work in a Disney mug, it makes the day seem a little bit brighter.
100℅.
Are there more functional mugs?
Of course.
Do they make you as happy to start the day?
Not even close.

I recommend a real tumbler and a sticker :)
No way.
If it wasn't bought and used on Disney property, there's no Magic.

If handles were really the problem... Disney can't just look around and find the solution is everywhere already?

This has to be some clown's decision that thought their new design was more modern... Yet probably never ever used one in the resort

You mean like all the other decisions made by either cubicle dwellers in Burbank/Celebration and approved by the guy in the corner office NEITHER of of whom has EVER visited a Disney park as it's so declasse...

If they did that with a little loop so you could still tie mugs to your backpack you wouldn't even need the handleless option.
