No Boys Allowed! Disney Bachelorette Trip..Suggestions?

Hi Everyone! I'm getting married next April (yay!) and although we can't get married at Disney, my mom and bridesmaids suggested we take a long weekend trip to Disney for a girls only trip. Of course, being the WDW junkie I am, I am thrilled with the suggestion! I've got my bride ears ready to go! :animwink:

Here's where I need some help...there will be 7 of us, and we will likely be going from Feb. 13-16, 2010. (5 of us are teachers, and that is when our mid-winter break falls...I know it isn't ideal with it being a peak time, but we'll take what we can get!) I've planned trips for a few people, but never a larger group like this. We're going to have 4 day tickets, but not park hopper; one day in each park, and check out Downtown Disney on the same day we are at Animal Kingdom.

*For lodging, is our best bet to get 2 adjoining rooms at a value resort? Or is there a suite that would be better suited/comparable in price?

*We are looking to keep costs down, but we do want to have 2 sit-down dinners for the 4 days that we are there...any fun suggestions? We're not too big into character meals....I was thinking Ohana would be really fun, but one of our girls is a vegitarian...are there veggie options at Ohana? (We've never eaten there with a vegitarian before, so I have no clue...) We'd also like to not eat sit down in Epcot...(rather snack around the world!)

*Are there any special things we could do to celebrate that I might be able to suggest to my MoH that aren't too expensive? (She hasn't been down to FL, but is looking for some fun suggestions of things to do/put together for us.) I'm sure there will be some surprises I don't know about, but she's letting me help with a few tips ;) I was initially thinking about spa treatments, but they look really expensive...

*Anything I might be missing?

Thanks for any suggestions!

With a group of 7 people, 2 value resort rooms is your best option.

The All-Star Music Family Suites and the Ft Wilderness Cabins only sleep 6.

Only the 2 bedroom villas at a DVC resort can accommodate up to 8 people, but the price is probably more than you want to spend.

I'm not the expert on where to stay with that many people but as for something fun to do how about a "Kiss around the World" a variation on the drink round the world at Epcot (which you can do as well) but you have to kiss (on the cheek of course) a cute guy from each country.

You'll have to get some t-shirts done, too. That way it's easy to spot a lost bridesmaid

Thanks for the suggestions- we will definitely have to look into the 2 adjoining rooms. And cute ideas, I heart Tigger! We're definitly not the typical bachelorette party type, but those sound like they could be fun.

Any restaurant ideas? I heard Chef TJ is over at Ohana now, so that might help with our veggie bridesmaid...any other restaurant suggestions?

I'd go with 2 value rooms because that would give you 2 bathrooms, whereas a suite only has one. 7 women + 1 bathroom =

And I like the kiss around the world idea, too - only make sure you all get group pictures with the cute guy so you can make scrapbooks for all your bridesmaids!

And since you're going to Downtown, there are several restaurants there that would be fun in a group - Raglan Road is nice because it has a show, too.

I hear you on that one! Even better reason to go that route!

We were actually thinking about Raglan Road as well...thought the beautiful bar they have there along with the live music would be a lot of fun. Another place we were thinking about is the Paradiso 37 that's supposed to be opening up later this month...Maybe we'll just make it a restaurant hopping night and do some appetizers/drinks at each.

Thanks to all for the well wishes! I've been doing searches online and can't seem to find anything in the forums...I know I'm not the first person to do this; hopefully more ideas keep coming!

If theres no man, how will you decide where to go what to ride and what to eat. Also will you be able to find your way there?

Hi Pumba, thanks for stopping in! Your concern is appreciated, but we're set. Thanks anyway!

I went WDW for my bachelorette party with my mom and aunts. We called it Girls Gone Mild.

One thing we did that I'd highly recommend is tea at the Grand Floridian. We took the boat over from the Magic Kingdom and while we waited for our reservation time (we were a bit early) we had a drink at the bar at the beach. It was a really lovely and girly time and something out of the ordinary.

So jealous

Wish I could have had my bachelorette in Disney, great idea! You guys are going to have a blast no matter what you do. Boma at AKL is a good choice for a vegetarian. It's a wonderful buffet with wide variety of choices. Also happens to be my vegitarian cousin and former CM's favorite place to eat in all of Orlando. Definitely do Raglan Road, I love it there.
I've heard of a drink in every country around the world in Epcot but not the kiss, ha...cute.
Your bridal party could defnitely come up with a very creative mission list for you to accomplish all over WDW. Have so much fun! The possiblilities are endless.

You could either rent a pontoon boat for a picnic out there or do a fireworks/illuminations cruise. That would be something fun to do! You could also do the Luau or the Hoop dee doo. I think both would have fun with a bachelorette party there!

The tea sounds like so much fun! We'll definitely have to check that out. I'll add Boma to our list of potentials as well. The spa is a possibility too, but some of our girls are a little short on money because they're in grad school...We thought about the luau too, but I think that's a little too pricey- we'd rather split the cost and go to 2 different sit down restaurants.

Thanks again for your thoughts! Keep those ideas coming...along the same lines as the kiss around the world, I was thinking it'd be fun to try and find the princes in the parks and get pictures with them as well; just not sure where to find them. We usually just get character pictures whenever we happen to run into them and the line isn't too long.

check with Guest servvices or any cast member in the parks, I know there used to be a "Chip-n-Dale" hotline they could call to see where and when you can meet any characters. Just make a list of the princes and then go on a Prince hunt!

HOW FUN!!! :sohappy:

I would make sure that when you check in and when you reserve your rooms and dining etc. that you tell the CM you are Celebrating a Bachelorette Party. You never know they may have some fun suggestions or upgrades.

Haha I LOVE it!

I will definitely let them know! I wish they had some sort of special buttons, but who knows...I may be decked out in enough embarrassing gear to get some attention. ;) I know I'm required to wear the bride ears already...one of the bridesmaids and I got them on my last visit to WDW for my fiance and I to wear during our reception.

Any other good, clean ideas?
