No 20K for AK?

According to BSD, the 20K prequel has been shelved and along with that, by my humble estimation :lookaroun, so has the Mysterious Island addition for Animal Kingdom.

Could this be the first big decision of the new Disney Parks VP (in conjunction with Iger et al)?

I think so. They must have another franchise in mind. :)

Oh, and MI was a possibility despite what some say.

there never was a plan for a 20k ride for AK. There was at one time however, an idea to use Reign of Fire to build the Dragon ride at AK.

I assume your talking about Staggs? This won't even be on his mind.

I'm glad the 20k movie was cancelled. The choices Disney was making for the film were extremly poor.

I am pretty sure that there was.

But JT to get back to your point that WDW needs a MI some where I always thought the perfect place would have been the area that the FL expansion is taking up.

Too late for that it appears. Wasn't there a plan for an 18th century western themed version? The MK might have room behind BTMR. Also, maybe DHS as a movie franchise tie-in.

Of course, there is always room for a 5th gate.

No, I think it was the decision of the new Studio head and has absolutely nothing to do with the parks at all.

Iger is all about synergy. These decisions no longer occur without the "big picture" in mind. Or, in another word, "franchise".

Shush jt, let's not give them ideas...let's see if they can fix what they've already built

Behind Rivers of America there is a huge plot

Also 20K or JTTCOTE would work in a certain plot in AL. Runs before Sirgoofy comes and sees that I have given away his Indy plot.

Am I the only one that thinks a Europe land makes quite a bit of sense for the Animal Kingdom? It would allow for the integration of mythical animals as most are European based.

The problem is, it would run the risk of being too similair to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

It was never going to be MI...it was MI esque.

Good 20K didn't make any sense in DAK any way.
Sure it did! :D Huge squid. Nature. Adventure.

Perfect fit.

Really now? There was something that was conceptualized and linked to 20K, I know that much...

I had never though about that, but it sounds like a great idea to me.

A generic "Europe" would offset Asia/Africa and let them bring in dragons and such. I can't think of a whole lot of animals that people would be desperate to see though. But then again, I don't see an abundance of animals in the Dino-rama area either...

I do agree about potter though. But, they are already building a few new castles in FL expansion, so whats another few in AK?
