It opened way ahead of schedule. It was meant to be down until late Nov 2008 - I guess they changed plans.

Yah I was lead to believe it was going to have little cooking stations or something interactive.. is it back to being the same type of restaurant as before?

We need a review or menu pic or something :veryconfu

Yesterday afternoon, I called Disney Dining to make an ADR for Nine Dragons for November 1st and they said all the dates were unavailable during my stay...it said the restaurant was closed! I guess I will call back today or tomorrow and try again. But...I'm sad that there is no General Tso's Chicken! That is what I always get there. :brick: I guess I will have to find a new favorite.

I have never been in 9 dragons. Does it appear that they did much to the interior from the new pictures? I don't hear anyone here raving about the pictures.

Sounds as if Disney may have put the kabosh on the full refurb in lieu of the current economy. Such a decision might have been made a month and a half ago when they were cutting fantasmic shows, pocahontas, and various other things.

It looks... a lot like it did before.

What exactly did they do? This is one of my favorite restaurants on property, and it doesn't look like much has changed.

My vacation ended on the 25th. There was people eating in the resturant on the 24th but aparently it was closed to the public. Was pretty sad we didnt eat in the resturant as we try to eat in their atleast once every visit.

I was pretty much adicted to the honey sesame chicken served at the temporary resturant for my whole trip!! Delish!!

It's been years since we've eaten there. We found the food to be very average and overpriced- even for Epcot.
The interior was lovely, however. How's the Biergarten these days???

Yeah, and it looks like the prices went up, while the portions size went down! I will never understand why people rave about a restaurant being "modern" and "contemporary" just because you can see more of the plate than the food. I loved going to Nine Dragons and getting the dinner for 2 and we always had way more food than we could eat!

If I got a plate with a lump of noodles and four shrimp for almost $20, I'd be walking out.
