Splash Mountain is sooooo awesome at night...

Also, try to ride Big Thunder Mountain while Fantasy in the Sky is performing. They shoot the fireworks off behind BTM, so they are like "right there". Its oh so Magical!!

Lots of people seem to like Big Thunder at night, and I agree. I've often wondered whether the designers specifically targeted nighttime riding on that attraction - it really is so much better than during the day.

Splash Moutain, too, is better at night, IMO. If I had to be stuck on one ride for the rest of my life (and wouldn't that be an excellent forum topic?), it'd be Splash Mountain at night. Good queue music...long ride...big thrills...outstanding details.

If I had to be stuck in one _park_ for the rest of my life, the only correct answer is, of course, Epcot, at night, during Christmas.

On a related note, have you ever watched Illuminations and wondered who in the Disney organization had to go to the accountants and say "Yeah, I need a boat...a big boat...in the shape of a globe...with giant projection screens....did I mention the fire?"

Space Mountain. Why, you ask? Well, it's a fact that as the day goes on, the cars move much faster throguh the course. So, if you ride in the morning, you're going 28 mph, whereas if you ride late at night, you're going 35 mph. It makes the ride so much better! I mean, hell...the ride is #1 normally, but at night it's even better!

I've never done Thunder Mountain at night...I'll try that in 8 days.

Haunted Mansion is Terror-iffic at night! Just the fact that it's night makes the ride's mood so much better. And the lighting on the facade is great, too. It is also in my experiences that the CMs get way too into their parts at night, lol.

Big Thunder, Splash Mountainare really cool at night. Test Track is completely different racing around the outside in the dark.

My all time favourite would have to be Kraken at SeaWorld.

Big Thunder last May on E ride night 4 times without getting off. What a fab time. Its hard to imagine a ride could be so diffrent.

Tower of Terror hands down. The view is amazing especially with the whole World lit up. Thunder Mountain and Splash mountain are good too. I remember doing the Jugle Cruise at night, now that was interesting. All of the indoor rides are the same, except have a different feel when get outside, IMHO.

I agree with Maria, Epcot is BEAUTIFUL at night! It's really lit well, especially World Showcase! Haunted Mansion is better at night as well, plus you can see more cuz your eyes are adjusted to the darkness better. Biggest difference I noticed- especially when your eyes aren't being shocked by the glaring sun, you can generally see the ride better at night. Creepier too!

I think ALL rides are better at night.

Disney magic really comes alive when the sun goes down. The atmosphere created by the creative lighting in every area of the parks helps to set the stage for the stories and experiences that WDW is so well known for.

OH of course they should stay open later, but they lose alot of money, because lots of people dont take advantage of that. So I can see why they close early, and don't have e-ticket days as much and stopped the 1 hour early resort guest thing. Though, people should take advantage of it, cause then they would stay open later!

i do! most definately! i LOVE it when MK stays open til midnight! it always makes me feel kinda special cuz most people are in their rooms asleep (that would include my mom and my sister) while my dad and i are still up and having a blast!
