Night of Joy better than you may expect?

Hey guys, so Gloria (my sister) and I were dropped off at Magic Kingdom for the Night of Joy event before we left to go on our Disney cruise in the Caribbean.

I must say it was WAAAAAY better than I expected it to be! We arrived at the park at 4:00 P.M., because you can get in that early on the NoJ ticket. All the rides stayed open even after park closing with minor rides closed like country bears, hall of presidents, ect.

I was expecting the park to be fully packed and not being able to do anything.. But that was not the case! Main Street was slammed pack and Tomorrowland was pretty crowded, but everywhere else, it was almost empty and you could get on and off any ride you wanted to! It was amazing! I consider this the cheapest Magic Kingdom one-day park ticket. I really recommend going on these two days even if you aren't big on the contemporary Christian music. You can just ride rides while the concerts are going on.

Also another thing I enjoyed a lot, they played Christian music on the speakers throughout the entire park which was awesomesauce! I recorded a video of our trip for YouTube..

My kids (especially my daughter) are so mad we missed NoJ. We're heading down to WDW this Wednesday, so we missed NoJ by about a week. My daughter is a huge "Panhead" (the nickname for fans of the band Skillet), so you can imagine her reaction when I told her they would be at the Magic Kingdom playing about a week before we got there.

I am glad you enjoyed it! I do not know if you heard or not, but Hillsong United is coming next year. It is my understanding that they are quite good.

I agree that both nights were not really crowded this year. I suspect Rock the Universe may have drawn more people this year with their line up.

Yes, it was better than I expected. I was unsure about how I would enjoy Stephen Curtis Chapman and Michael W Smith, but it was good. Hearing SCC sing the Dance with Cinderella song in front of Cinderellas Castle was pretty cool. (It was the song my daughter and I danced to at her wedding) On Saturday night, we saw Matthew West and Toby Mac. Both were great. Matthew West will be back next year, but will finally get to play the castle stage. So of the 6 acts on the castle stage over the two nights, 3 of them will be MercyMe, Matthew West, and Hillsong. It should be a great year!

We were there on Friday night and we really enjoyed it. Since my husband uses an ECV at parks we were put in the disability section which was right in front of the stage at the castle so we had really good views of the performers. Stephen Curtis Chapman and Michael W Smith are two of our favorite artists so we considered it a blessing to spend our anniversary watching them. We also got to enjoy MercyMe but we bailed out before Skillet because it got to be too much being right in front of the speakers. I don't know how crowded Tomorrowland got but I did tell my husband I thought the Main Street crowd went straight back to the train station because I could barely see it.

We did not stay past 10:30. We actually just used our tickets to get a nice Magic Kingdom day in on the Friday, except for the rain. We actually got to ride almost everything!

What was hilarious was me and the 10 other people that went on Stitch's Great Escape was cutting up during the whole ride. When the lights went completely out, every kept yelling "MARCO!" "POLO!"

I enjoyed listening to the music being played around the entire park more than standing in a huge crowd watching it live actually.. haha but it was really an amazing experience
