Lasted update:

Animal Camp athlete Nick Storm Trooper Bautista hit mile 300 at 7:51, back out on 31 at 8:08 and already at the summit!! Willy (who was the race leader and officially pulled out at mile 250 with the lead for unknown reasons) then went on to run another 60+ mile around town off course because thats what he wanted to do..... Well, Willy is back, and has joined Nick to pace him and help crew him.. Given Willy pulled out back at 250, Nick is leading the race... Don't ask questions.. All the athletes out there have endurance off the charts and are now playing in "the deep end of the pool.."

awesome , I love that these folks while competitive look at the bigger picture and work to help each other. as I stated earlier this is one of those races where you are racing against the actual race not each other.

I think I know Nick pretty well. As much as I could with all our conversations and texts etc. I think he is mentally fine at this stage. As a matter of fact, I would bet any amount of money. He is a mental machine.

Hope so. He definitely has a good support structure in place.

Latest update from Peak Races:

500 MILE UPDATE - Thursday morning

Nick - 320 MILES
Michelle - 280 MILES
Willy - 250 MILES officially but 350 unofficial total. He's not on the course anymore but still logging miles.
... Joel - 220 MILES

200 Mile Race Starts today at 4 p.m.
After racing with only 3 or 4 people on the mountain, wonder if the dynamic will change with addition of the 200 m racers.
Keep up the awesome work Nick! You got this!!

Been following this....this is crazy....I have a mad amount of respect for Nick.

I know, I can't tear myself away!

Kristi - did you happen to see how many people will be starting the 200 mile race and joining Nick on the mountain?

I find the pics of him on facebook in which he is still smiling the most amazing.

And then there were two...

About 12:30 PM via FB (Joel Gat):
Peak 500: At 220 miles, I have withdrawn from the race. As I looped the course, I realized I'm not all that far from Frank and Matt and I'd enjoy the meaningful miles running with them. I'm heading down to join them and will continue running as much as I can.

To those who "bet against me", we can either call it 220 miles or hopefully you can look at my total when I finally stop, which I will do everything I can to make 500 total miles.

Good luck Nick!

Hey Joel, do you know how long his first few loops took? I wonder if he's keeping a steady pace throughout.

It's a 10 day event, and it started last Thursday at 4pm, so I assume it ends this Sunday at 4pm.
Yep. That is my understanding.

I dont have the first few days of loop pace, but its been about 50 a day assuming he gets 350 by dinner time. He is right on schedule. Id like to see him at least 1 or 2 loops ahead, so those last few arent a buzzer beater.... but maybe he wants to make a dramatic ending. LOL... naaah, he just wants to finish I bet

I think Pittsfield got hit with some heavy rains last night. Hoping he's not getting the brutal heat that we are dealing with here in NJ. Would be nice if the weather Gods cooperated with him on his last 150 miles.
