NFL superagent saves boy at Grand Floridian

Drew saving boy-good
Drew still a money whoring agent who hurts the game by driving average player salaries too high-bad!!

Right now he has such negative press in Green Bay with his verbal sparring with Brett Farve. Bottom line, sign a contract, honor the contract. The timing is pretty odd. If it's true, which I tend to believe, I'm glad he was there for the boy's sake. Still dislike the man a lot... :hurl:

Hey, the guy saved a life. Let him have that.

It always surprises me how people can hold players to "loyalty and honor" to a team, while letting front offices get away with "it's a business." It's a business for all sides. And in the NFL, "contracts" are meaningless.

Were WDW Lifeguards on duty?

Great to see that the young boy is doing well...

As a former lifeguard at Blizzard Beach (College Program - Summer 2000), I was curious to know...Is the specific area, where the boy was rescued, an area guarded by WDW Lifeguards?

I remember Disney and Ellis (the outsourced lifeguard training company) did an excellent job of preparing us for all situations. I always felt really confident on guard.

I was wondering if the lifeguards on duty attempted CPR or participated in the rescue at all. It would seem almost like a major liability if the lifeguards allowed another guest to step in and perform the CPR.

Never thought I would say this...Way to go Rosenhaus!

I agree with you.....You can think about what you want about DR but as Mer said It's a business and business means money. But the bottom line is
The man saved a life, I'm sure it was not orchestrated as some people are leading to, and I'm sure the boys family would agree. I wouldn;t be surprised if DR got the kid tickets to a game or too.

I live in Philadelphia where he is currently loathed. The man represents everythign that is bad about professional sports. The guy does EVERYTHING for fame and money, constantly in the spotlight. That was my point of the irony.

The contracts may be meaningless and a player can be cut at any time. But there is a guarentee to the contracts. All of their signing bonus money is paid up front. So if you get cut after getting a $5 million signing bonus, you still have that $5 million.

People like to hold out to get an additional signing bonus and a contract worth more money. You never see a player saying I had a bad year, let's renegotiate, I make too much money.

First time posting. I am from Philadelphia, where he is in negotiations with T.O. and the Eagles. This is an excerpt from the local ABC news website here in Philly:
Drew Rosenhaus/Terrell Owens' agent: "It was mass hysteria; people screaming, calling for help. Trying to keep the mom calm. The father was there. It was just a really scary scene. Fortunately I was just cool under the pressure and again, the instincts that kicked in. Hey, I'm always portrayed as the bad guy agent. It was just really a great feeling for me to do something good to help somebody having nothing to do with being an agent. This was Drew Rosenhaus the person, not the agent. It was the happiest day of my life... Hey, maybe the Eagles will show me some love and they'll see that I'm a good guy and that I helped this kid. Although he's from Chicago... maybe this will help me in my negotiations with the Eagles."
Even the morning radio show here in Philly was playing the clip of him talking and appalled by his comment and how he brings his negotiations into this situation.
Thank god that little boy is going to be ok though!

Tooting his own horn is an understatement!!! I just saw him on Philly news too.
No matter what the circumstances, glad the boys was saved!
What scum he is though, he is making this all about HIM.
I was dumbfounded to hear this man actually say during the press conference that he hopes this will help his negotiations with the Eagles!

I'm surprised he didn't demand compensation from the boy's family.

Haha - so true- despite this good deed, the guy is still evil incarnate. He is worse than any Disney villian for sure. Sports fans in my office think the staged it!

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it was after life guard hours.

Last time I was at Pop Century, they had a lifeguard on duty all hours the pool was open. This was in early Feb during non-peak season. I would imagine that if they had a guard on duty at Pop Century for all the budget minded people, that they would have one on duty no matter what the hour was at GF for all the much more wealthy guests...

Never really heard of this guy but its just good to know there are plenty of people out there with training and heart to help out others in a time of need. :)

If you actually know the guy, advise him not to show his face in Philly . . .

Very true. This guy is scummy as scummy can be but he did save a child so I will give him that credit. Dont be suprised if he tries to bill Disney for his actions. Im glad the boy is OK.
