Dak looks to have had a gruesome injury....hope it wasn't as bad as it looked.
That one looked bad. This is the reason why players hate the franchise tag. It may pay a lot for one year, but there is no protection past that year.

Also, the same day Alex Smith is active and takes a snap for the first time since his leg injury, Dak goes down with a devastating one, too.

Dak wanted more money than he’d ever be worth...so he really took the risks himself.

Smith was sacked 6 times...had Aaron Donald jump on his back and ride him to the ground on his 3rd play.

He made it. A nice story. Now I hope he retires...nothing left to prove

Compound fracture of his ankle...in surgery now.

Ryan is a stiff...Quinn blew his chance 4 years ago under the lights
I'd have to agree Dan blew it as all he had to do was go in victory formation after Julio made that catch. At best, New England would have been out of time outs with 1:15ish left on the clock, and should have been by 10 .....assuming Matt Bryant makes the field goal.

Matt Ryan is above average, maybe well above average. If you think he is a stiff, you obviously are not paying attention to our Oline.

Many look at his and Julio's contracts, but seem to overlook the next highest contracts. Contracts 3-6 are really terrible, and that's AFTER releasing Devonta Freeman.....

Dante Fowler, Jake Matthews, Grady Jarrett, and Deion Jones are all making North of 14 million....and Atlanta's payroll is 3rd highest in the League.....

If he was allowed to hit the open market, I bet there would be a team willing to make him the highest paid QB in the league. Is he worth it? Probably not. But that's just how QB money goes. If you are arguably a top 10 QB, you become the highest paid player ever until the next one comes up. The franchise tag did not allow him to hit the open market.

Not sure how severe Dak's injury is, but he could be placed on the franchise tag again next year. If he's able to play, that would give Dallas another year to see how he's doing. But that's a really big if. If he can't play, my guess is Dallas moves on.

Not really gonna do a deep dive on the falcons. Never liked “shoulda, woulda, coulda”

Arthur came down to the sideline...you NEVER do that 🤪

PS...i’m
Originally from Pittsburgh...So I’ve seen a lot of winning AND a lot of underachieving/excuse making too.

And remove the offer to Dak?
What offer? He’s franchised. He’s an ufa after the season. I assume you’re not an nfl gm?

Not excuse making, saying/illustrating just how BAD Dan blew it.

Offer? Just wanted to hear you say it as I agree there is no offer. He should have signed. Easy to say now.

Yeah...he “gambled on himself”...

But he’s also probably the only player ever to say no to $110 guaranteed.
And probably the last

One would hope

On a related note? Maybe related? How's the corona going to affect Pro salaries moving forward? Maybe that is a question better suited for pm.....

Wouldn’t imagine football too much because of all their big Money tv and sponsor deals. Similar with the nba. NFL cap will go down though based on revenue drop.

Now baseball owners were looking to crush the players after next season anyway...and I’m a hockey guy first and that sport is screwed by covid. They may not play for a long time - completely gate dependent.
