New coaching switch! The Titans have fired Ken Whisenhunt and have named Mike Murlarkey as their interim head coach.

Keenan Allen is now headed to IR with a lacerated kidney. My star players for fantasy have had terrible injury luck. I'm trying to work a trade for Gronkowski and Rivers right now. He said he'll think about it, and has not declined the offer. Really hope it works, or I won't be able to keep up with the other good teams.

No progress on the Gronkowski trade. Still working him, though. He's not dumb. My trade offer is:

Trade Away:
Matt Ryan
Travis Kelce OR Tyler Eifert
Chris Johnson
Jarvis Landry OR Mike Evans

Get:
Philip Rivers
Rob Gronkowski

Meanwhile, I'm dropping Keenan Allen. Not sure whether to target Ronnie Hillman or DeAngelo Williams on the waiver wire.

It's a no-go for Gronkowski. He knows he has an all-star roster. He has Aaron Rodgers, Rob Gronkowski, Julio Jones, and Dez Bryant. His RB group is starting to come on, and his only real need is a WR3. But I still want Rivers. Don't think he'll take an even Matt Ryan for Philip Rivers deal, but I don't want to give up one of my WRs or RB for Rivers.

Would a Mike Evans and Matt Ryan for Philip Rivers and Demarco Murray or Dion Lewis trade be stupid on my part?

The top 2 waiver picks (the only two really) were Williams and Langford. Everyone and their mother had their first claim for Williams and their second for Langford. Since my league's waiver priority is static, the same person got both. I'm not the only one complaining about this in my league, but the league manager doesn't care. So next year I'm going to have to join a random group. I just have no patience for this manager anymore.

Back-to-back losses for the Packers. Something that hasn't been said since 2010. We had every opportunity in the second half to come back, but we couldn't start that attempt until there were only 9 minutes left. And we should have gotten a TD on that last play, but the pressure forced Rodgers to look away from a wide open Randall Cobb. But we'll be back. It might not be as the #1 seed, but I'd rather have a hot team come playoff time than one who's cooled off. I think we're just starting to heat up.

As for the Panthers - I have no clue how they're still undefeated. Cam Newton nearly gave a 20 point lead away. He is wildly inaccurate on several of his throws, and his only skill is running. Not an MVP candidate if you ask me. But still kudos to the Panthers. They're obviously doing something right.

As for my fantasy team, here's how it looks:

Ben Roethlisberger - 28
Chris Ivory - 16
Doug Martin - -2 (so far)
Antonio Brown - 38
Mike Evans - 8 (so far)
Tyler Eifert - 23
Martavis Bryant - 9
Caleb Sturgis - yet to play
Bengals D/ST - 8

BENCH:
Davante Adams - 11
Derek Carr - 37

"Cam Newtons only skill is running"
*has almost 300 yds passing and 3 TDs*

"Cam Newton nearly gave a 20 point lead away"
-I didn't know he was playing on defense either lol.

Bottom line is the Packers defense looks really BAD right now and that's not good if they wanna get far into the playoffs.

Cam Newton missed a wide open TE that would have been a TD. Cam Newton missed several other wide open receivers on key plays, mainly 3rd downs. Cam Newton threw an interception with 3 minutes remaining leaving Green Bay in scoring position. He completed only 50% of his passes, which is similar to his season-long percentage. The majority of the yardage came in the first half. So I stand by my thoughts that Cam Newton is not an elite QB.

As for the Packers defense, they did look bad in the first half. The second half they performed much better, especially in the 4th quarter. Just like last season, I think the best is yet to come. And if they can get to the level they were at near the end of last season, they'll have one of the best defenses in the league.

Every team has high points and low points during the season. The Packers are at a low point, but I'm confident they'll bounce back sooner rather than later. If they are playing their best football come December, watch out.

Cam Newton is not the only one to overthrow an open WR. He's also not the only one to throw interceptions. I've seen elite QBs like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady miss open wideouts before. You essentially brought up things all 32 starting QBs in the league go through.

However, Newton does it consistently.

Again, ALL quarterbacks make those mistakes.

Also, if the Packers giving up 400 yds of total offense a game is a sign that the best is yet to come then I'd hate to see the outcome

And I didn't say it's a sign of things to come, I said the best is yet to come.

remember when 300+ yrds a game was considered a lot.. and 400 was like a game to talk about? These 500+yrds of total offense games are becoming common place..

Rules are made to be breaking offense records.
That's why I don't put much into all the records Peyton Manning is breaking. Yes, he's a good QB, but it's like comparing apples to oranges when talking about him and other QBs in NFL history.

Yeah and I think it's gone too far. I mean the different eras are different.. people get faster, stronger, etc.. but now it's just weird. 33 QBs are AVERAGING over 200yrds a game throwing.. 4 are averaging 300 or better.. AVERAGING.. that's just nuts.

And people used to look down on arena ball.. hell it's almost what the NFL is now :)
