Per Adam Schefter - can't say I'm disappointed. I wasn't really thrilled about this choice in the first place:

Jets’ deal with OC Chan Gailey has not gotten done, and there are questions as to whether it will, leaving Gailey and Jets’ futures uncertain. “Everybody made it seem like a done deal – everybody except me,” Gailey said Monday. Three other teams have talked to Gailey about joining their staff and he is contemplating whether to do it, he said. He only wants to coach with the right team in the right situation. But those reports of Gailey joining the Jets were premature and Gailey said the two sides are at a crossroads, “but nothing’s happened yet.”

I love these stories: Pats DT Vince Wilfork assisted at the scene of a rolled over Jeep by pulling the driver out of the car - using just one of his hands.

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/england-patriots-player-pulls-driver-flipped-car-hand/story?id=28328931

After his team crushed the Colts to earn a spot in the Super Bowl, 33-year-old New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork kept on rolling by helping a motorist after a car crash.

A statement from the Massachusetts State Police today was headlined: "New England Patriots Player Vince Wilfork Lends A Helping Hand At Rollover Crash."

At 12:45 a.m. this morning, just hours after the New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts 45-7, state troopers responded to reports of a vehicle rolled over on Route 1 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Troopers found a 2015 Jeep Wrangler rolled onto its side.

"To their surprise, New England Patriots Defensive Tackle Vince Wilfork was beside the vehicle checking on the operator," according to the police statement. "The operator of the vehicle, 38-year-old Mary Ellen Brooks of Hanson, was unable to get out of the vehicle."

While Trooper Kenneth Proulx held the driver's door open, Wilfork, number 75, "reached in and helped lift the operator out of the vehicle with one hand," the police statement read.

"Mr. Wilfork departed after ensuring the troopers didn’t need any further assistance," the police said.

Brooks was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, the police said.

yeah.. not really amused... but he's supposedly a bit QB guy.. so who knows, they could unleash flacco.

as long as he doesn't turn into cutler :)

Well we hired Gailey. Not sure how I feel about that one.

And per Chris Mortensen - not really sure where this goes or what it means for the Pats:
@mortreport: NFL has found that 11 of the Patriots footballs used in Sunday’s AFC title game were under-inflated by 2 lbs each, per league sources.

I'm so p.o.'d about my Pats right now - why????!!!! There's so much that they do right, not just on the field, so why do this, especially in an easily winable game? I'm sure they're not the only team to have done this at one time or another (AAron Rodgers even mentioned over-inflating balls didn't he?), but this just serves nothing but loss of respect for a team that has had its share of poor choices.

Definitely not the only team - read this:

Rodgers said that he prefers balls to be over-inflated, because it's a better grip for him. He never said that they actually do, though. He says that he believes most QBs prefer it to be flatter.

The league allows players to use and prep the balls before the game, but then the officials take them away from the players and approve them before the game starts. From my understanding, the balls that are used in-game (and not for sideline warm-ups) are not given back to the players after the officials approve them. So if I'm understanding correctly, the officials approved them for play before the game started. Unless the Patriots got their hands on them somehow, it seems to me like the blame should go to the officials for approving under-inflated balls. But I could be understanding wrong.

I misread it the first time - thought he underinflated them as well as scuffing.

But adding to the interest... listening to Rich Gannon (the losing QB in that game... who is also friends with BJ) on NFL radio this morning.. the ball rules were different back then. back then, there was 100 balls and neither team had any access to them. Unlike now where teams provide their own balls that are inspected before the game.

The article also pointed out Gannon threw 5 INTs in that loss.

Late breaking news:

Adding to the scandalous videotaping of the Jets’ defensive signals during a game and the under inflating of balls during a game against the Colts, it has become apparent that the Patriots' cheating shenanigans continue. They have been hiring a homeless man dressed in raggedy clothing to pose as the head coach during games while the real head coach Bill Belichick has been off spying on........wait, my editor tells me that the guy on the sidelines is actually Bill Belichick. Well then, who would of thought? Never mind.
