I know it's a bit earlier to start thinking about the NFL, but I'm so lost without it. It's my thing! So this thread is to keep the joys of the NFL going.

The draft starts a week from tonight, and the 2013 schedule was just released a little bit ago. Some questions to kick things off...

- Who's your favorite team?
- What are your thought on free agency so far?
- Who do you want your team to draft?
- What do you think of the regular season schedule schedule?

I'm a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers for those of you who don't know.

You were like me with baseball, lol.

-I think you know that
-Um, it's lunchtime?
-I don't know, whoever they think is best. We're in a rebuilding year probably with our aging team.
-Haven't looked at it.

As you can tell, baseball is consuming most of my time. Well, that and the AP exams I have in three weeks...

I'll answer for you. :p

- Ravens
- Some decent pickups, but I like building through the draft more, it's my philosophy for success. Lost some key leadership, but should still be a contender
- Manti T'eo probably would be a good pickup at the 32nd pick. Maybe Kevin Minter.
- Haven't looked at Ravens schedule

You're welcome. :D

So I pulled up the schedule using the Ravens app. We start on the road unfortunately because the Orioles are in town. But they had it first, so, ya know. Plus, I'm going to that game. So...

Week 8 is our bye week, which is good because it's fairly close to the middle of the season and it's right after having to play the Steelers, so we'll need the break.

We have a lot of consecutive Sunday games which is good. Last week the spread between the week was uneven.

The Thanksgiving game is at home! That means I get to go!

The Thanksgiving game is also against the Steelers. BOOOOOO!!!!

A lot of home Sunday day games. That means I'll be babysitting.

Sorry. Your team is losing on October 13.

I can't believe we're not playing the Colts at all and are only playing the Patriots once.

Looks like a pretty good schedule. Maybe we have another shot this year, lol. I doubt we'd win the Superbowl again, probably not even make the playoffs, but looking at the schedule gives me hope.

I hate Thanksgiving games. It seems like such a long gap between that Thursday and the next Sunday/Monday.

The Packers and Ravens are gonna have a good matchup, but last time the Packers destroyed the Ravens. Just sayin'! :p I think that was the season before we won the Super Bowl. Can't remember for sure.

The Colts aren't in the AFC North, and you only have to play every team once every four years, so that doesn't surprise me. And the Patriots can't play the Ravens more than once in the regular season. In the NFL a team plays every team from a division in the AFC and NFC. Then there are two "wild card" games thrown in. These usually are there to boost TV ratings and draw interest.

And I think the Ravens will get to the playoffs, but anything can happen from there. They were considered the worst team (in the playoffs) by many at the start of the playoffs. Just like the Giants the year before. You play the regular season with hopes of getting to the playoffs and getting hot. That's how the last three Super Bowls have been won (Packers, Giants, Ravens); it wasn't necessarily the best team from that season.

You can see my knowledge of football is not great, lol. I just support the Ravens.

You're playing the Ravens at Ravens stadium. That's not a friendly spot for football...

Nonsense! I was actually thinking about starting a MLB 2014 thread in about a week or so. :p

My team is the Atlanta Falcons. As far as the offseason goes...glad they talked T.G. outta retirement.

After last year's controversial finish in the Super Bowl (missed holding call, Ray Lewis's performance enhancement accusations, etc)...I wanna see a legit team go all the way this year. Naturally, I'm pulling for the Falcons, but realistically, I think this season will belong to Aaron Rogers & the Pack.

We've won at tough stadiums before. I have faith in the Packers against the Ravens. The only team I don't have faith against right now is the 49ers. And guess who we get to start the season against. On the road against San Francisco! Woohoo!

While it's FAR too earlier to crown a team, here are the favorites from me

NFC: 1. 49ers 2. Falcons 3. Packers 4. Seahawks
AFC: 1. Patriots 2. Broncos 3. Texans 4. Ravens

Seattle looks dangerous! They made some great acquisitions this offseason. If their young QB can avoid a sophomore slump...they might slip in under the radar & steal the NFC West from Kaepernick & Co.

Seattle looks like a dangerous threat, but I like the other three teams better at this point in time. They definitely how the players to go all the way.

I'm not sold on a bunch of free agent/trade acquisitions. These things can destroy a team's salary cap. I tend to think like an NFL owner/GM in the off-season. Save money for homegrown players, and build through the draft. It's proven to be successful, whereas free agency has been iffy.

I hate to tell you, but um...

I'm a closet 49ers fan. Oh, I said it. If the Ravens hadn't been in it, I would have been cheering for the 49ers.

And I have one thing to say about M&T Bank Stadium and the Ravens.

2011. All games played at home won.

That is all!:D

The Packers have only lost one home game over the past two years. Thank you 49ers... Lambeau Field is still the best stadium in the league. So clean, colorful, vibrant, lively, and historical.

Based off of last season's records, these are the strength of schedules, starting with the toughest

1. Panthers
2. Lions
3. Saints
4. Rams
5. Ravens
6. Packers
7. Cardinals
8. Dolphins
9. 49ers
10. Vikings

The weakest schedule is the Broncos.

Of course all of this means nothing... :p

I'm more into college ball then the pros I root for teams that have former Sooner players on it.

1-Rams
2-lost some pieces but got some nice young talent as well
3-A freakin O-linemen for Pete's sake Sam is getting killed out on the field
4-doesn't matter they won't win much

Bengals

I have no clue who I would want. As long as they can tackle or catch the ball.

The only thing I worry as Bengals fan is if this is full.

1. Who's your favorite team: NY Giants
2. What are your thought on free agency so far: Wasn't too happy about losing Bradshaw but then again, he had troubles staying healthy. Victor Cruz is the big fish I'm worried about. A long term deal is what I want at this point!
3. Who do you want your team to draft: A LB at least. Ogletree and Te'o seem to be biggest ones on the radar but I'm cynical about Te'o more than Ogletree.
4. What do you think of the regular season schedule: For my team, it looks pretty tough to me. Two games against RG3 late in the season when he's healthy, two games against Chip Kelly's fast paced offense, showdowns against Peyton and the Broncos, Packers and Seattle. Not easy to put it lightly. Generally speaking, I'm loving the playoff rematches scheduled not just from last year but the year before.

Today at the Orioles game, I saw a guy wearing a Steelers jacket but an Orioles cap. o_O Okay, if you're going to cheer for the stinking Steelers, you must also support the Pirates the way we have supported the Orioles even though they were a losing team for so many years.
