I've looked at the past division standings of the NFC East since 2004 (The last time there were multiple below .500 teams in the division) and there hasn't been a runaway division winner since. Two games separated first and third place last year. One game separated first and third the year before. And the difference between second and fourth was one game in '08, two in '07. The division has yet to see two teams both finish below .500 in a while. And even when the difference between first and fourth was huge like it was 2009 and 2010, the top two teams had the same number of wins. The NFC East has parity.

Parity I would agree with... but parity doesn't mean strength by any manner. It just means they all suck or are good in equal amounts.

Stats like 'two teams below .500' don't really mean anything. The division is only 4 teams. Look at 2011... the winner was 9-7.. then 8-8,8-8, and 5-11. So technically, only one team was below .500 but would anyone call that a strong division? 8 and 8 is still treading water in the NFL and is considered a mediocre record.

Strength would be a relative comparison to the entire league.. not just the division itself. And taking 2011 as an example again... not a single team had a winning record against the rest of the NFC.

The NFC has been good for two things since 2000.. the Giants and Eagles.

Dallas has won ONE playoff game since 2000.. Washington has one ONE playoff game since 2000
Giants have won ZERO outside of their two SB runs. The Eagles are the only ones with consistent playoff wins since 2000.. at 9.

The biggest thing the NFC East has going for it? The east coast metroplex as it's TV base.

Dear Atlanta Falcons,
Why must your offense fall asleep in the 4th qtr? Don't fear the end zone. It is your friend. Run to it. Embrace it. Having the lead at halftime is not a sign to wrap the game up & call it quits.

Sincerely,
Megalodumb

Don't forget that the defense always forgets to get off the team bus.

Jacoby Jones is injured. By a stripper. Named Sweet Pea. Seriously.

Yeah... the locker room is not going to be pretty when Coach unleashes on them. McKinnie just got out of the dog house at the end of last year.. and now he's going to be right back in it. He has a history of problems with gentlemen's clubs (they were actually dock'ing his pay to pay off bad loans he had from club owners!).

bustedcoverage is a good site for news on this type of stupidity :)

Just submitted my picks... a few very difficult choices. Cowboys/Chargers, Redskins/Raiders, Cardinals/Buccaneers, Steelers/Vikings, and the Bears/Lions, Dolphins/Saints, and even the 49ers/Rams made me think a little.

Here's what I found on YouTube home page:

Out of those stereotypes, I'm definitely The Doctor. (Critical of other players who draft injury prone players.)

Josh Freeman has been benched, and Mike Glennon will start against the Cardinals for the Buccaneers.

Some news and rumors for today.
The Raiders and Jags are reportedly interested in trading for Josh Freeman.
Brett Favre's agent said that Brett is in the best shape of his life and that Brett could be a good NFL QB right now.
Brian Hoyer is expected to start next week for Cleveland.
Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski might return Sunday.
The Giants have signed FB Dan Connor.
Terelle Pryor is questionable to play Sunday, and the NFL is looking into how the Raiders handled the concussion to see if they followed the new concussion rules

I actually don't doubt this. Favre still had a pretty strong arm when he left the league, but his team was disfunctional and Favre was beaten up pretty badly. He might not be very mobile, but neither are guys like Tom Brady. I think he could be better than guys like Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder, and Jake Locker. Now a team would be stupid to sign him (not that he wants to play) due to the age factor.
