Mark Sanchez was placed on IR, but he was designated as a player to return. I believe the earliest he can come back now is week 9.

Is it just me, or has this Clay Matthews late hit thing been taken way too far by players, coaches, fans, and media? One of the 49ers lineman is now saying he wishes he could punch Matthews in the face.

In the current rules.. it was way over the top. He left his feet... it was against the running QB... on the sideline, etc.

I don't think it was anything but football... but the move itself was so far off what is considered acceptable now I can understand extra attention on it.

I think it's a bigger story than it should be because of Harbaugh's comments before/after the game and Matthews' comments prior to the game. If it would've happened without any comments prior to the game, it would've been just another late hit.

I'm disappointed the web app doesn't let you see everyone else's picks that are pending in the grid :( I guess because everyone can change their picks up until gametime.

Certainly plugs into all the noise Jim has been making but I wish the rest of the league would just stand up and say 'pull up your skirt and stop crying'

I can't see it on a desktop version, either. It's just a hyphen through all of the picks.

I'm watching the Top 10 Players Who Wore the Number 12 on NFL Network, and there are some really good players to wear 12. Rodgers, Namath, Bradshaw, Staubach, Stabler, Brady, Cunningham, etc. They did have Andrew Luck at 10, though. Kinda premature for that...

Anyone else excited for the Manning Bowl? (Broncos at Giants)
Being an SEC homie, as well as an Atlanta resident since the '60s, I compare Peyton to Greg Maddux. Both umm great in the regular season and come up short in the post season. Peyton never beat Florida in 4 tries, Eli was 2-0 in 2 tries. Eli's 2 rings to one.....people fall for high powered offense every time...

I think most of the attention is given for the way the dude carries himself...always drawing attention to himself. In Atlanta's game last week against New Orleans there was a late hit (albeit not out of bounds) to Matt Ryan that could have garnered much attention, but barely even got a mention. Ryan was rattled and really wasn't the same the rest of the game. As I see it, as was the case in Matthews hit, both were worthy of penalty. AND both hits were made with the intent to rattle the other teams QB (didn't that used to be part of the game back in the day?).....To answer the question; yes it has been taken too far.

Looks like it's going to be a rainy day in Green Bay. Hopefully we can win so I can forget about last night's horrors from the Wisconsin/ASU game.

More bad news for New England. Amendola has a torn muscle in his hip. Gronkowski can't come back any faster for them now
