I just realized that 3 of the 4 NFC North teams will have a new head coach within a two year period.

Nothing against Peyton, but this had me laughing.

If manning can beat Brady this week and then win the Super Bowl he might have a case to consider himself the greatest of all time. The lack of Super Bowl victories really hold him back. Dan Marino had the same problem, if he won 2 Super Bowls or more I think he'd be the undisputed best QB
Funny pic though :p

Even if Manning won the Super Bowl this year, I'd still say Brady over Manning. Brady has done more with less, played outdoors in New England, and has more Super Bowl wins and appearances. Manning is the best regular season QB of all time, but not the best QB of all time. I still reserve that right for Joe Montana, followed by Tom Brady.

Just for fun, I put together a list of my top 10 QBs all-time.

1. Joe Montana
2. Tom Brady
3. Johnny Unitas
4. Peyton Manning
5. John Elway
6. Dan Marino
7. Brett Favre
8. Steve Young
9. Terry Bradshaw
T-10. Bart Starr
T-10. Roger Staubach

I couldn't choose between Staubach and Starr, so I took the easy way out and made it a tie. :p

Problem is with Manning, it's been one and done in the playoffs 8 times for him. Plus Brady is 10-4 against him and has the better playoff record overall. Though keep in mind 7 out of 10 wins against Manning were in New England and Brady thrives in New England. But Manning has the better stats and more game winning drives, shockingly. So if Manning were to win a second ring, I wouldn't know where to put him on my QB ranking. He's definitely top 5 material.

Marino is one I have a hard time getting behind. Now, I'll be completely honest, when I was a teen/20s I did not follow football as closely as I do now... but Marino just always seemed like the guy that had great stats, but could not lead the team to be dominating and win the tough ones. Now, that is pure anecdotal... but their constant playoff losses and the fact we only had a NFC team around really didn't make me hyped about Marino. All looks, no go... Compare this with guys like Montana, or Elway's come backs, and later Farve, etc.. all QBs that broke through the wall with their team.

I still think Montana and Brady are my modern era bests.

You would have a hard time getting consensus on this subject among Broncos fans. It is hard, no matter how objective you try to be, to say that about Manning where the team has the Elway legacy.

Regardless of opinion on that, Broncos fans are just overjoyed to have a "legacy" QB again, after soooooooo many years of horrible to mediocre QBs. I wonder if Jake Plummer is still crying in his Cheerios about how the Broncos done him wrong? LOL!

And aside from just winning and going to the SB, I would also be very happy to see Denver stick it to McDaniels again. I have a special place on the cold side of my heart for him (right next to Rick Neuheisel).

I was reading a Q&A-type column on Packers.com and this was the final question today. The answer made me laugh. :p

Q: I get a lot of backlash because I am a diehard Packers fan who doesn’t have Favre in my top five QBs of all-time list. Is that wrong? My list in order is: Montana, Brady, Bradshaw, Aikman, Elway. What’s yours?

A: Unitas, Montana, Graham, Brady, Tebow.

Since the regular season is over, who are your picks for the major awards (MVP, Coach of the year, etc)? Here are mine:

MVP
1. Peyton Manning
2. Jamaal Charles
3. Philip Rivers

Manning is a lock for this one.

Offensive Player of the Year
1. Jamaal Charles
2. LeSean McCoy
3. Peyton Manning

Usually a QB doesn't win this award, but Manning has a strong case for this one, too.

Defensive Player of the Year
1. Robert Quinn
2. Earl Thomas
3. Luke Kuechly

Quinn was on a losing team, but he racked up 19 sacks. Thomas is a playmaker, and a threat on every down. Same goes for Kuechly.

Offensive Rookie of the Year
1. Eddie Lacy
2. Keenan Allen
3. Giovanni Bernard

Lacy carried the team during Rodgers' absence, and there is no way they make the playoffs without him. Allen had a great rookie season, but be had a QB who was having an even greater season.

Defensive Rookie of the Year
1. Kiko Alonso
2. Sheldon Richardson
3. Kenny Vacarro

Alonso is a lock in my opinion.

Comeback Player of the Year
1. Philip Rivers
2. Alex Smith
3. Darelle Revis

Nobody truly deserves this award. I choose Rivers because of his performance after two interception-filled seasons. Smith performed well after being benched for Kaepernick, and that should be taken into consideration.

Coach of the Year
1. Ron Rivera
2. Mike McCarthy
3. Andy Reid/Bill Belichick

Rivera led a team to a first-round playoff bye. McCarthy led his team through the loss of one of the best QBs in this league. Both deserve the award, but I give Rivera the edge, because normally the Coach of the Year goes to teams who aren't expected to make the playoffs. Reid and Belichick both deserve praise for their scenarios, too. I don't think Reid deserves it, though, because his roster was loaded with talent when he got there. Belichick lost a lot of key pieces, but he still had Brady at the helm.

Packers LB coach, and current HoF finalist, Kevin Greene has announced he is stepping away from coaching in order to spend more time with his family. He says he hopes to return once his children are older. Greene is in the top 10 for most sacks in NFL history (can't remember exactly what number).

I agree with you on all of then except coach of the year, which I think should go to andy Reid. From the first pick to 11-5 and a playoff berth is no easy task. Rivera is definately deserving, but I think Reid deserves it more

Good news for the Seahawks and Broncos: Madden predicts the 49ers and Patriots to go to the Super Bowl. Each week NFL.com has the Madden video game predict the outcome of games. Normally they are wrong.
