The Pats had a great game too. I would have preferred beating the Eagles instead of having the Eagles beat themselves(what was it, like 4 or 5 penalties in 30 seconds of game time at one point?)

Although it's only pre-season, it keeps the streak alive. By the way, the first thing I learned in coaching school is that a win is a win, take it and move on. :)

Let's hope for a season where the bounces go our way.

Go Patriots!

Well...last season...

The Patriots not only went 14-2...but also won the Super Bowl...so that makes them 17-2...but...also won all 4 preseason games...so if you want to come down to it...they went 21-2.

Other than the rain...it was a fun night all around. I gave Vince a buzz to give him some "sounds from the game." I might add...the luxury boxes are just awesome.

Bengals and Bucs tonite in Tampa. First look at the new Uniforms and the new look offense with Carson at the helm. Was suprised to see the Bengals picked as a wildcard team in one of the pre-season shows over the weekend.

One can dream, I guess. Both guys picked a Super Bowl of the Patriots and the Eagles, with the Patriots scoring another Title.

Tampa Bay - Oakland.

Oakland victorious.
Wouldn't that be interesting... especially since the Bucs traded Sapp to the Raiders.

(I'm still shocked that Warren is no longer in Florida.)

Yay!!!!! It's football season again

My Cowboys are going with a 40 y.o. QB  but I have faith in Bill. Last year at this time I did'nt think we would win more than 6 or 7 games. We got 10 wins and a playoff game. It was an ugly playoff game, but still, a playoff game?!? Unfortunately, the Cowboys could be better this year and not win as many games as last year. I'm thinking 8-8, and maybe 9-7 if everything goes just right.

As for predictions, here goes :)

AFC Divisions:
East- NE Patriots. The scary part is they look even better this year.
West- KC Chiefs. Gunther Cunningham and KC belong together. KC's defense WILL be better this year. If they rank in the lower teens or better on D this year, look out.
North- Baltimore Ravens...By default. If Kitna was the starting QB in Cincy, I might actually pick the Bengals. But I can't bring myself to pick a team with a QB that's never taken an NFL snap.
South- Indy Colts. Peyton and company are good. But they have the same problem KC has. The D has to get a lot better this year. Jacksonville is my AFC darkhorse this year.

AFC Wild Cards:
Jacksonville
Oakland

One more AFC prediction: The Houston Texans will break .500 this year, say 9-7. If everything goes just right, they might even win 10 and sqeeze into the playoffs, although I think they're still a year away. I love the Texans almost as much as I love the Cowboys...but not quite. :D Would'nt it be something if they actually won more games than the Cowboys. If Vinny goes down, who knows.

NFC Divisions:
East- Philly. The Eagles have lost both starting CB's from last year and they're already having injury problems, but Andy Reid will find a way to win. BTW, the Redskins scare me, VERY badly. Lots of talent and one of the 3 or 4 best coaches of my lifetime.
West- Seattle Seahawks. The 'Hawks are the best kept secret in the NFL.
North- GB Packers. If the D gets better, the Pack could go deep into the playoffs. We're getting close to Favre's last stand. Enjoy it while it lasts.
South- New Orleans Saints. No reason, I just think this is the year. The D line suddenly looks formidable. Duece is a spectacular RB. And yes, I'm still trying to convince myself. :animwink: My wife's fave team, you see.

NFC Wild Cards:
Tampa Bay
Washington...Man, it hurts to say that.

AFC Championship:
Patriots over Chiefs

NFC Championship:
Seattle over Philly

Super Bowl XXXIX:
Patriots over Seattle

If anyone can make the Corey Dillon trade work, it's Bellichick. If he can't, then my SB prediction may be WAY off. :zipit:

Well, I like your picks and your reasoning. Kitna had a great year last year, and I for one was sad to see him relegated to back-up status. He is very involved in the community and seems like one of the really good guys in the NFL.

Bengals did not look so good against the Bucs (okay, I was out and did not see the game, heard about it though) and this week they get Corey Dillon and the Super Bowl Champs. How about that for a tough pre-season: The Bucs, New England, Atlanta, and Indy.

I still think Marvin has the Jungle pointed in the right direction.

Just wanted to jump in and say...

GO TITANS!

Mac9 (best QB in football) and crew are gonna get it done this year....I hope.

Fortunately for me since I just moved to Miami, the season opener is Titans at the Dolphins...I am so there.

I believe everyone would have to say that the best QB in football is the one that used to play for the biggest football team in the state of Tennessee. Hint: It's not the Titans.

All teasing aside, I honestly think that Manning truely is the best QB in the game right now (no matter what college he went to, I would have to say the same). McNair is certainly the toughest QB and he might be the most underrated big name QB, but I don't think he's quite as good as Manning.

And as much as I don't like the Titans, I definately hope they win that first game!

No way is Manning the best, and I'm not saying that just because I hate the Vols with the white hot passion of a thousand suns. :fork:
Manning is a one dimensional player...a drop back passer. True, he does that well, but take away his talented receiving corps and a decent backfield and what have you got? Not much. He can't run, can't take a game on his shoulders, won't take a hit to get a first down...all things Mac9 does every week. No comparison. It was an insult to Steve that he had to share MVP with Payton last year.

Well I thought it was a huge insult for Peyton to have to share the MVP with anyone, especially someone who missed as many games as Steve did. Oh well.

I must admit that the Titans should be a better team this year now that they got rid of Eddie George and now have Chris Brown as their feature back. He is going to be a better back for them. Eddie George was the most overrated player in the NFL for the past few years. Chris Brown should see most of the carries and should have over 1,000 yards this year. It will be tough for the Titans to get a wild card spot this year, but they will definately be in the running for it all year.

Tough to get a wild card?
Uh-uh.
We're taking the division. :D

Come on now

I like the Bills and I know we have no chance at winning the division (even though I think we've got a good chance at the playoffs because of our defense). Sure the Titans have a better chance than Buffalo at winning their division, but it would be a HUGE upset if Indy doesn't win that division this year. HUGE upset.
