An update on the `Genesis` Imagineering book; Amazon just emailed me with a possible availability from mid May. Maybe.

Is there a volume out there on park and attraction history, or is that only a domain for tribute video and internet discussion? I would love to have a volume that outlined some of the extinct attractions and original concepts.

Walt Disney World: Since The World Began (by Jeff Kurti 1996) is one of the better WDW history books out there.

Disneyland: The Nickel Tour (Gordon/Mumford 1995) is one of the best Disney park books EVER!

Jason Surrell's books on Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion are also really nice, though limited to those individual attractions.

One of the better ways to learn more about the extinct attractions is to track down some of the older books that discuss the rides before they'd become extinct. The book Walt Disney's EPCOT Center (Abrams 1982) is a good example of that, as it even discusses attractions that never were developed.
