I like the old typeface, and I don't care whether a globe or a Sorcerer sits in the D - either way it's a vast improvement. The one they've been using since 1996 has never sat right with me. It's too bland.
Ok, this one I have to refute. First, you could pay cash at the entrance to the ride instead of a ticket. There was no need for a "black market" in E or D tickets. The ticket books included the general admission ticket. There were also tickets for individual sale at the ticket booths inside the parks. There is so much else wrong with the rest of the post but I'm not going to bother.
Yeah, that was why I didn't go any further. The black market one was just the craziest point. I could just imagine guys in trench coats by the DL bathrooms with cigarettes hang out the side of their mouths slyly saying "Hey! Need some E's or D's?" and then swinging the jacket open to reveal a stash of tickets.Try to not be mean. They did say that they got the info third hand. Do you know how many times I hear things that "a friend of a friend" said?

Me, too!I agree. I like the script logo much better than the retro one.
It turns out that (at least the sorcerer mickey one) is not the new logo. It was simply created for merchandise. Via the Disney Parks Blog: "You will see that Sorcerer Mickey silhouette logo for the 2013 merchandise at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. But I don’t believe it is being used in other places. It was something that our Disney Design Group created specifically for the dated merchandise."

I'll quote this again. I trust our members here more than the DisneyParks Blog. @marni1971 also said the usage of the old logotype would be phased in on an as needed basis, which means there'd be no need for the blog to know as the logo will not be revealed at any one time. The sorcerer Mickey is not the only version being used. The original Walt Disney World logo with the globe is being printed on most of the adult merchandise, and the sorcerer Mickey version is used on everything for kids and the 2013 campaign. The logotype is here to stay, but the Image within the "D" depends on the product line.
I have noticed that the new ads for 2013 are continuing to use the Current Corporate-type face with times new roman World logo. I hope Martin is right but I am not getting a good feeling. Sigh and I was so happy about this a few weeks ago and now between this and NextGen any optimism I had is all but shattered.I'll quote this again. This is the same Walt Disney World that apparently is not listing The Little Mermaid on its UK website.I have noticed that the new ads for 2013 are continuing to use the Current Corporate-type face with times new roman World logo.
