Apparently so long as AK doesn't fall into a black hole during your watch it's an automatic promotionWe at Disney corporation are excited to announce that Josh D'Amaro will be the new Vice President for Disney's Animal Kingdom. His outstanding work and innovative solutions running Aulani and Disneyland Paris' hotels will provide invaluable in running Disney's 3rd most popular Orlando Resort. Coupled with his experience in running a foreign hotel, which will be very valuable experience managing the Africa and Asia areas of Animal Kingdom, his management of Disney's Wilderness Lodge will provide spectacular insight because, you know, animals live in the wilderness and stuff.

Thanks. I'll edit and fix for correctness of the joke.Josh is headed to SVP of Resort and Transportation OPs. I know what you meant, but nitpicking.
When was the last time someone from outside the company was hired for a senior parks and resorts management position?
It's obvious isn't it? The lack of any comparable job roles or experience from any other company means it's impossible. It's better to shuffle people from transit to food to resorts to animal husbandry as an MBA means one is qualified to run all of the above expertly, even if they have never ridden on a public bus (ick!), or so much as pet a house cat (germs!).
Who was the last AK VP with animal care background? Has to be pre-Val I thinkThis is yet another typical move by the same management team. Dijuan is just another cog ... and it really is insulting to all the fine men and women who spend careers working with animals and in associated fields that a career timeshare/hotel guy, someone who doesn't even have park ops on his resume, gets placed in a role heading Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The folks who run this company are truly cancerous.

"A good manager can manage anything." Heard that early in my career; it wasn't true then, and I don't believe it is true now.
