new vacation planning videos

Well, I got my video today, I ordered from disney.co.uk. Very prompt response, only ordered last week too. I have now seen that the video lacks the mention of the following "major" things.

Tapestry of Dreams/Nations
Mission Space
Pop Century
Philarmagic

I noticed there was alack of the Epcot sign too, not only on the video, but in the literature that came with the video. On the map of WDW the big hat is at MGM, but no sign at Epcot, the same as the previous year.

I wish they would come out with a video/dvd for each park. I've got an old one for the magic kingdom, and i think there's one for Epcot. It's not like the newer vacation planning videos, but more informational. Every attraction is given time, and i really enjoyed watching these old videos, but i wish newer ones would come out. I know there's an audience for these.
I'd much rather disney make these instead of direct-to-video sequels.

I guess they are aiming these videos at people who have never been to disneyworld before.

I know they certainly dont tell me anything new, I just watch them for fun.

I would like to see park specific ones too though!

Not as far as i could remember from the one i saw.

They mention very few attractions at any of the parks.


At epcot they only really mention Test Track and Hun, i shrunk the audience. The was a fair bit about Wold showcase too, but they miss so many things out.

confused....

okay, so i just received a video in the mail and im 99% sure it is different than the one my dad received when he got his. We both ordered ours at the same time (there were coupons that we sent in for 5 free videos-for friends, because i just got back from WDW in sept). anyway, his video i think is different. The packaging is the same, same box, same blue vhs tape, different contents.

anyone seen this? If i remember correctly, mine has that guy in it more, the guy in the red shirt who does all the sayings "buon appetite in french means...buon appetite" anwyay, im not 100% sure, but ill look next time im out at my rents house.....

Okay.....I have a couple of questions. I have ordered my video, but not received it yet, is the video they are giving now, different than last years 100 years of Magic planning video?

Nineinchnails, you said that the only thing that changed was the addition of the animal kingdoms new rides (the dinosaur rides...primeval whirl...etc..), with the 100 years celebration ending, shouldn't there be an entirely new video?? Or have they just cut out all the 100 years stuff??

They basically cut out the 100 yrs stuff. It seems they are keeping the hat as an icon because when they show the disney studios they show the hat right away. They also keep the stars and motorcars parade, and as far as the snowglobe parade in mk, i dont remember. They also show some really cool scenes in epcot (of which i dont know what they are....). Um, many of the scenes of the video are the same in the old videos, for example, they show the same interview with the french? chick and shes like: "they pulled me into the parade, and da da da" lol.

anyway, id rate this vid a 9!!! WOO HOO

Not to mislead, it isnt the 100 years of magic video minus the 100 years of magic, its a good video with a lot of "new" footage, footage not found in videos prolly since 98? anyway, enjoy the tape

Just got my video, and watched it last night. Lots of new info! I found it interesting that the have dropped MGM from the Disney studios portion of the tape, and no mention of MS or Pop Century. Oh well, definitely worth getting.....only 8 months to go!!:lol: :xmas:

I remember several years back, pre 100 years of celebration, I ordered a vacation video via the internet and I checked DVD and received a CD ROM. Good info and a neat way to tour the parks, better than the video. On the CD ROM you could skip to what park you wanted to see and also go straight to the outside of the park info, etc...

Still have it and it is pretty close to the new video I received on Christmas Eve, my early present to me. We have planned a trip during Spring Break hoping to see something different from the 100 years celebration, we where there in February this year. Looks like they have kept all of the parades and added Spectro Magic back into the mix for MK.

i guess its a good sign though that if theyre releasing a dvd in uk, then theyll prolly do it in the us.....

Dosent matter to me i had my player "chipped " when I bought it,it means I can get my discs earlier and cheaper

Finaly, I got my WDW Planning DVD. Just an update on what happened.
Last year I ordered the Planning Video (UK). Then this year I realised I could get a DVD version, so I went to disney.co.uk and ordered a copy, I was sent a video, so I did it again - sent another video, and again - sent another video. I have four videos for 2003. Enclosed however is a leaflet which you fill out so a video/dvd can be sent to a friend. This time I filled this in (addressed to myself) and finally I got a WDW Planning DVD 2003.

The DVD is great, a few extra bits and pieces. One thing I noticed however was on the paper map that was enclosed, River Country was drawn on the map - but not labled, on the Interactive map - no River Country, just water. No "Epcot" over SSE. Surly if Disney were to update the map, the "Epcot" should be added to SSE??? After all they have the hat minus the 100YOM Logo.
