At least Phil Holmes and his management team will be able to get to their Escalades even faster, though.

And that my friends is something to celebrate this holiday season!

I still say the show would be a perfect fit in the premier theater at disney's hollywood studios... they might even have enough room for an orchestra pit to keep it mostly live.

Figgy, you're assuming Disney wants to actually present the show.

It doesn't.

Much like it doesn't want to put anything in that theater.

:lookaroun it would certainly get more crowds than American idol experience does at times... and if they wanted to track the entire thing to save cash they could. certainly would add another offering to the park, and it's next to the holiday stuff already.

I remember Drew81 saying that there was a possibility of 'Twas being relocated to DHS, but it seems that it's not going to happen this year.

Dang this stupid economic recession!!!

As I've said before...

Disney won't present shows or attractions for the heck of it. There would be no purpose in repositioning this show to DHS. What would that accomplish, except for that a decent sized handful of Twas fans (I'm including myself) get to see the show again?

Could it go there? Yes. Will it? No. It was a paired offering with Mickey's Very Merry. That event loses an amazing (yet expensive) show. Ticket prices will not reflect this loss however...but what's new?

DHS has SODL...that is the holiday offering for the park. And it brings in many more visitors than Twas would...unfortunately. There is no additional monetary gain that Disney would see from putting Twas at DHS...therefore it won't happen.

It is solely my personal opinion as well that the SMALL footprint (not large enough for substantial parking or an attraction) of the Galaxy Palace Theater had more to do with Mickey's Twas, than Disney will ever admit. To get rid of the show...they needed to demo the stage. This would minimize guest complaints...as Guest Relations could cheer up the guests by saying, "This area was removed for a future guest offering". The stage wasn't worth much anyway...it was very old. It saw no real action except for Twas...and a handful of Magic Music Days groups throughout the year. And with the expanded dock stage...MMD probably didn't get hit too hard at all.

It was an expensive show...one that you can guarantee they were trying to get rid of for many moons. Many performers, many Equity performers, many technicians, costumers, managers, LIVE MUSICIANS, etc. It was a beast.

And unfortunately, you will probably not ever see a theatrical show like that, with live music, dancers, and singers...again...in any forseeable future. Those days are gone. It's cheaper with a track and characters. And the kids (target audience) don't know the difference.

Oh, isn't that true. Such a shame. Candelight Processional really the closest thing we have left, and even thats been turned into an unofficial dinner show these days. :(
